idk if it's a challenge or not lol Rules: the board size should be 4×4 to 10×10 with a square shape(6×8 don't count,etc) should be a WoF.However,if accepted,NCVs will count. promotion should be useless,or no promotion.(like =xX ,=U in a cramped place or =B in a colorblind.). no pieces worth more than 8 points. if a brick-like(xXθ) piece,they must be a royal or almost-useless(dont block the pieces most of the time)  either B&W and 4PC theme can be used. game including: The Camouflage,by KSG[UR] Cramped Jungle,by Joowon2015[UR] well i thought it was just ok

This challenge is for authors who have submitted at least one variant and have been banned for violating ToS (fair play or abuse). Please leave a comment if you want me to add you. If there was a place for creating this type of content, or if this type of content does not belong here, then I apologize for creating a new topic for this. This topic can be deleted (or locked) if this is the case. I created this position, in which the rules are CTK, Crazyhouse, Any Capture, Passing, and 13th = N (the rank where the dead green archbishop is). Each side's royals are the kings (on n8 and a6 respectively). Every turn, Yellow has no choice but to pass. Red moves up the board. Question 1. Can Red mate Yellow, and if so, what is the shortest line in which Red mates? (The shortest line still hasn't been found.) Question 2 (for those that responded to question 1). If the dead pawn on l13 was removed, how long is Red's mating sequence now? (Please do not reply with a comment partially responding to the questions like "Yes, Red can mate": please add an example line to prove your claims.) Edits: Specified CTK rule and specified royals. Changed to 4pc to prevent Black/Dark Green problems. Added part 2.
The upper half was alfil,but now it's no longer used so i use this one.another version: as the picture,Silver combines ferz and solider,worth 1 points each. another one is Gold,combined stone general and wazir,worth 2 points each: (the hiragana in brackets are symbols like rき for red Gold even it's funny lol) I'll try design a neo style piece of them next time

Note: I was unable to find a thread from the CV directory that exactly corresponds with this sort of topic, so I'm posting here instead. Hi everyone, I'm @QtSeSc (formerly @honeybeee91), the creator of the declined variant Trench Warfare (https://variants.world/posts/1500). I have a few comments regarding the decline of this variant: this thread serves as a response to the criticism I have received regarding the variant. I have noticed that, both in the decline message and the comments, this variant has been described as one with "heavily limited board vision", one comment attributing it to the dead pieces. However, I did not include the dead pawns just for aesthetics- if I had put gray pawns, then the variant would have become a shuffling variant completely true to its criticism. The dead pawns are colored so that you can track your opponent's movements: when your opponent captures a piece, you can see it on their capture menu. In this position, I was playing as Yellow. On the top left part of the screen is a berolina pawn, showing me that my opponent moved one of the 2nd-rank alfils to the right half of the board. That way, I intended for this dead-pawn mechanic to compensate for the board vision problem. Additionally, by tracking your opponent's captured pawns, you can tell if your opponent is defending, attacking, shuffling, or overextending their position so that you can play accordingly. For example, in the game www.chess.com/variants/custom/game/77212349, I could see that my opponent was shuffling, so I prepared an offensive with the alfil corresponding to my opponent's royal alfil's squares so that the alfil, with quintuple protection, could not be captured without loss of material when it entered my opponent's territory. I do not recall seeing such a use of colored dead pieces in a FoW variant (but I could be wrong). If the use of the dead pawns is a novel concept, then I believe that the quick decline was due to the belief that the dead pawns were for aesthetics only, as there is no mention of the dead pawn mechanic in the decline comment. If this was the case, is there a possibility that this position can be re-reviewed, and if it was not, is there a way I could implement this mechanic without shuffling possibilities? Another comment dismissed this variant as "always [being] a shuffling variant", "[n]o matter whether without the mechanic or with the mechanic". However, the royal alfils attack a different set of squares (one's royal alfil can not capture the other royal), so one could use one's alfil corresponding to the opponent's royal alfil to attack a shuffling opponent with relative safety, assuming sufficient preparation. One more comment claimed this variant to be a shuffling variant when pieces are traded down. Even though this is frequently true when most of the pieces are traded, I believe that the relative unpredictability of Fog offsets this potential. So, even though I am a new variant creator and have chosen riskily to attempt a FoW submission, I still believe that this variant has potential for implementation: there are many different aspects of this variant, like tracking the locations of your opponent's pieces, tracking which of your opponent's pieces you captured (so you would know which of your opponent's pieces can attack what squares), choosing which dead pawns to capture (so as to reveal your position as infrequent as possible), choosing which pieces to attack with and where to attack, choosing which pieces to trade, and employing the grasshoppers' horizontal movements. So if my assumption regarding the decline comment is true (if the decline comment was due to the disregarding of the dead pawn mechanic), I am wondering if the variant could be re-evaluated before a second verdict, if possible. Edit: In the rare case that this variant be accepted after a potential re-review, I would like to state the use of this mechanic directly in the description to make it (somewhat) more beginner-friendly.

How do I switch back to 2 player mode in the custom position?  Where to click?  I want to set up my own 2 player variant, but it only shows me FFA or teams.  I know it must be possible somehow, but I'm just missing it. Pls help.

Wait, the forum title literally contradicts itself. Anyways, feel free to disagree on some of them. 1. If you are stressing about the 24 hours rule for a submission, then it is VERY LIKELY that there's an issue with the variant. 2. GD Names shall only be used with reasoning. 3. The less comments a submission has, the more likely it is for acception. This is especially true for NCV's. 4. The thoughts of ChessMasterGS on a submission will be the verdict, 98% of the time. The only counterexample I have for this is Silent Clubstep. I watched testing games of almost every variant. 5. New Pocket Chess-like challenges will only get submissions from randoms, if and only if they are extremely well-organised, creative or high-quality. 6. When a good position, or a position that has potential is posted in the Workshop thread, wait for a bit of feedback on the position before posting a new one. This applies especially to creators who post positions with little to NO effort on them.  7. Piece spam and Serendipity are night and day in terms of difference. 8. Do not claim to find forced wins in creations of experienced creators, unless you are 1000% sure of what you're doing. 9. Anyone, who makes atleast 2 very good positions, or has any accepted positions, is a friend. 10. Anyone, who does not spend much effort on their creations and especially submissions, is not a friend. 11. Acheron may be treated like a solo project by both imchesspro0930 and brasterze. 12. Do not attempt 4P Spells, unless it is just Jump, even then, proceed with extreme caution. 13. Unique is good, but if you are going to submit it, and especially as an NCV, do extensive testing. 14. Read "How to not make a variant". 15. Do not attempt forbidden combinations, unless you are the @yx-whatever or someone extremely experienced . . . . Tell me if there are more!
