Which would you say is your favorite gambit? And which gambit do you find to be the most interesting that you might want to learn more about? My favorite gambit is the Queens gambit, Kings gambit, and smith-morra gambit. The one I find to be the most interesting gambit would have to be hands down the Fried Liver Attack Also called Fegatello Attack. And yes it is considered a gambit.

Which in your mind is the best Counter Gambit? Which is the most interesting? Well as for me in not really good with Counter Gambits (mainly names), but the one I am just recently checking out and tring is the Budapest Gambit (or Budapest Defence). Well that one and the Albin Counter Gambit are the only ones I know so if you know any others please tell me all about them. You dont need to find a game with it but the algebraic notation. I would really appreciate it.

Anyone have any interesting gambit games? Recent ones preferably. I would love to see any quick kills or interesting positions from the current Gambit Gang Internal Tournament. I'm only half way through my games and am still in a bunch of theory. Post'em if you got'em!
Anyone know any good gambits vs c4? I've got gambits for f4,e4, and d4 but no c4. Any info/help would be great. ~Boog

There still is no thread to the Budapest Gambit (1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e5), this can no longer be accepted ;) before I post a game in this Gambit, Wikipedia has a great article about this one. This was a blitz game of mine (settings 5+5), showing why it is better not to chase that knight too desperately.

Hello guys I like the idea behind the danish gambit(e4, e5, d4, exd4, c3, dxc3, Bc4; etc.) but most of the time i use it I don`t get nice results, Can anyone help me and give me some advice on this one? Please Sinceerly: Percyval
This is a VERY aggressive and exciting gambit against the classic bishop's opening. It sacs a bishop and rook in the first 5-10 moves!!! Be careful though, there are several answers to the attack.

What a great gambit is this....... I just played this opening at live matches... and it was nice.... I'll keep this in my repertoire.

Alright, we finally got the first tournament for the Gambit Gang going after its relaunch! Unfortunately I set it for 10 people and it was a bit much for some players to handle. So I'm thinking of starting a Gambit Gang Mini Tournament with a max of maybe 5 people and only 1 simultaneous game per players. I know of one member interested. Would any others be interested in this type of tournament? ~Boog

Something i copied and saved info about the danish gambit. Hope this helps. I've recently started using the Danish Gambit(e4 e5 d4 exd4 c3), for quick games. If done correctly, I've found it to have an extremely high rate of success, even against players such as NM David Forthoffer(I want to remind everyone he killed me 10 games in a row, I finally won the 11th(I actually revised the Danish to become more Quick-friendly, so even if someone plays the Sicilian against e4, I simply play d4, which transposes into the Danish.)Anyway guys, I suggest you start implementing the Danish to rack up some quick wins. A few tips:1)When you play the Danish, CONSERVE YOUR PIECES! You can't be trading off because you are already down on material! You need pieces to break through and attack.2)In the opening phase, your king is unprotected. Get him in a safe spot and only then begin launching your attack!3)Nervousness causes mistakes, I promise! If you can sacrifice a knight just to make your opponent nervous, DO IT! Because nervousness in quick=defeat:)4)When you castle, you can always play f4 and sac the pawn to open up the f-file for your rook.5)ABOVE ALL, IF YOU CAN, DON'T LET YOUR OPPONENT CASTLE!
A 3 0 game played today with the Vector Gambit. 1.d4 Nf6 2.e4!? Nxe4 3.Nc3 Nxc3 4.bxc3 . The opponent declined the gambit but accepted it the next move. I have added some simple notes and Fritz w/ Rybka has done the variations in the move list.
This is a very playable variation of the Queens Gambit Declined Tarrasch Defense. It is one of the reasons the main lines of the Tarrasch are often not reached in the classical move order. The line I've posted is Shamkovich's and Schiller's reccomendation from Play The Tarrasch.
Somebody please slap up some Wing Gambit theory. I decided to play it in a team match, and I have only one experience with it as Black. That was a long time ago. http://blog.chess.com/xMenace/first-loss2 I'm really Wingin it here
From wiki: In chess, the Smith-Morra Gambit (or simply Morra Gambit) is a gambit against the Sicilian Defence distinguished by the moves 1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd4 3. c3. It is not common ingrandmaster games, but at club level chess it is an excellent weapon. I really know nothing about the Smith Morra except that when ever I encounter it I avoid it at all costs. In fact, I have only recently started playing with e4 and only a have a few games under my belt. I would like to see some recent games by this Gambit. If you have any recent games with the Smith Morra Gambit please post them here. Thanks!!

We're playing a spanish team that promises to bring a gambit to the table. This should be interesting. Lets go guys!
Another line from Clyde Nakamura. The Gambit Accepted article can be found HERE. This was actually my first game ever using this Gambit. After reading about the Blackmer-Diemer Gambit, I decided to open up with d4 and luckily for me my opponent responded Nf6. I immediately followed up e4! The idea of this gambit is to create a strong center, develope most of your pieces, and create a half open b file. The gambit worked out for me and I was able to take out a player rated 300 pts above me. I'm sure the gambit in the opening helped out! I will post my game and then a few of Clyde's games from his chessville site. I could have blundered really bad on that last move! Luckily he took the bait. I was under a bunch of time pressure. now for Clyde's games. If you like this Gambit please go to Clyde's site HERE. He has tons of other great Gambits there as well.
Hey, I wanted to post a game i recently played with this gambit (thats why I opened this thread - to keep things sorted). So here it is:
