Is there a difference between over-the-board USCF tournament ratings and on-line USCF tournament ratings? Or do you just have one rating on the USCF records regardless of whether you play tournaments on-line or OTB in USCF tournaments? If there is a difference, what is the rationale for the difference?

I am mad I got kicked out for no apparent reason and when I click join it says Registration not available

So I just played a 24 hr game in a tournament and the person started out Rank 1293 I was 876. It was a hard fought battle but I won. Now what I don't understand is the person I was playing against lost 238 rank points and I only gained 12 how is this? why was mine so low and his was so high?
