There is usually a milestone for 25 wins. I have passed the milestone of 25 wins in online reg. but it’s not showing up in my USCF milestones on my USCF profile. Is this a glitch ?

1) Use the 2017 uscf rating estimator. Use your opponents uscf online ratings for appropriate time control(onl blitz, onl quick, onl regular), go to their tournament history to find most recent one. 2) Average your current rating with the new estimated rating. 3) The final result will be accurate to +-5 pts.
I just saw a message from chess.com that 10-Minute Chess games will now be rated / considered as Rapid Rated (instead of blitz). Does anybody know how this affects the 10|0 tournaments in this club that are USCF rated? Will the 10|0 tournament now count towards the USCF quick (rapid) rating or does it still count towards blitz? According to https://new.uschess.org/news/online-rated-us-chess-events - it would appear that 10|0 is still online blitz for USCF but that's from a few months ago. I'm wondering if USCF will make that adjustment as well ... otherwise it will be very confusing.
can you get a USCF rating by playing in the tournaments for this club

Is it possible to make the G29 rapid that happens once a month on Saturdays, to G30, to rate it by the USCF online regular rating system?

So, I'm 37, trying to be a responsible citizen with social distancing and all that. Naturally, this has caused a renewed interest in chess, particularly renewing my lapsed USCF membership (lapsed by over a decade lol). I have noticed that pretty much all OTB events for the year, at least in my area, have been canceled or postponed. And this has led to a surge of Rated USCF tournaments in the online category. Which makes me curious. I was reading about how norms and titles are acquired and the USCF website states that they must be acquired in Regular rated (not dual rated) tournaments. I guess this does not apply to the newly formed Regular Online rated category of tournaments? If this is the case, I fully understand the reason for it, probably harder to protect against cheating. I was just hoping to be able to chase some of the lower level category 4 and category 3 stuff as a goal/milestone. Ultimately not a big deal, and I guess I can wait for the global pandemic to subside before worrying about all that. I was just curious.

How can we gain USCF Rating online? Is it the same value of OTB Rating? Can anyone explain it?

So I registered for a Continental Chess Association (cca) tournament yesterday and it’s on icc.The tournament is called North American Scholastics.Any suggestions of how to use icc.It starts on the 22 and ends on the 23rd so not much time to learn cool features. It is a eight round Swiss of G45/10 and there are 4 rounds each day. It is also Online USCF regular rated . Details

Will USCF ever adopt a rating system similar to chess.com?

If a player [public accusations not allowed -- MS] has been flagged for cheating in a tournament and they won the tournament, do they still retain the gold medal for that tournament? I'm asking because I went 4/5 only losing to a [removed -- MS] who was flagged for cheating. This is a 15/10 that i played today not a uscf member club tournament. I'm just curious.

Could uscf add online rating history graphs just like they do for the otb catagories?
ChessPadiwan1023 Aug 3, 2020
At present, I am uncertain if USCF-rated online tournaments are capable of using regular-rated time controls, such as G/30+10 or G/60, etc. If not, why do I see in the Members-Service Area when I look up a player that there is an "Online-Regular Rating"? Much Obliged.
I am inquiring wherther, in online tournaments conducted on chess.com, that are rated for USCF purposes, if they are paired according to players' USCF or chess.com ratings. Also, if they have no online rating, of any kind, what OTB rating does the USCF use as a base rating to determine the post-tournament online rating. Much Obliged.

There is a blog that has different traps that you should learn! It has over 10 traps, and it especially useful for beginners! If you are more advanced, then it still might be a good takeaway! Maybe you haven't seen some of those traps, and you can use them in your games! The link to reading this blog is https://www.chess.com/blog/snchin/a-bunch-of-traps-you-should-know. And follow me if you haven't, so you get notifications when I post!
