Here are a few examples and after we pick the little bit we want we can delete this forum.

1.  World League example

Here are the Chess960 World League 2022 Round 7 pairings.

Some reminders about Chess960 WL play this year:

  1. Some time ago, Chess.com made a change about start times that is affecting everyone.
Please everyone follow the new procedure as follows:

First set your chess.com time zone,
    in https://www.chess.com/settings ,
    to Los Angeles Time.

    and save the settings.
Then create the challenge entering 09:00 for the start time.
  2. Always make sure you set the Start Date and Start Time for your match. Select the announced start date and set the hour to 09:00 AM Los Angeles Time. We will be strictly enforcing start times.
  3. No player may be removed from a Chess960 WL match unless they have a timeout ratio of 25% or greater or are playing Chess960 WL matches for another Chess960 WL team in any division. Team match score adjustments will be made for repeat violators of the one-team-per-season rule.
  4. Adjusted match scores will be displayed on chessteams.info , which will be updated regularly.
  5. If you are new to the Chess960 WL, make sure you check out the Chess960 World League Guide.

.

.

Send and accept the challenge without delay.  NEVER wait for the other team to send the challenge: If you do not see a challenge from your opponent now, go ahead and send it yourself.

Accept the challenge without delay and immediately check to make sure that the match parameters and the start time are set correctly.  If they are not correct, please fix the problem immediately by canceling the match and issuing a new challenge with the correct parameters, then contact your opponent's admin to inform them of what you have done.

If you have sent your challenge but your opponent is not accepting it, please report it in the Chess960 WL2022 Match Problems thread, and include the link of your match challenge, so that everybody involved can help to find and fix the problem quickly.

To contact team representatives for communication and problem fixing, find them in the WL2022 Teams and Representatives thread.

.

When your match is open for registration, please post its link in the Chess960 WL2022 Match Links thread.

Please encourage all your players to sign up for the match by posting announcements in your group's news, notes or forums. Make sure you reach the required minimum participation in time, and build good overall participation.

Inform your players they need to choose one single World League team for all season. Check especially the players with a different flag, and find out which team they will choose to play for in Chess960 World League 2021. Regularly check the Chess960 WL2022 Multi-Team Players thread to make sure you quickly find and fix your team's newly reported multiplayer issues before the match starts.

Good multiplayer work has allowed the Chess960 World League to reach good new high levels about this --- keep up the good work!

.

If you have suggestions on how the WL format could be improved, you can post them to the WL2023 Suggestions thread.

Here is an example  from Team Match Championship League 960:

The Round 5 draw is posted below and admins should set up their match challenges as soon as possible. Please take care to do this exactly as directed, paying particular attention to the minimum number of players per team for your division as follows:-

  • Alpha (A): Minimum players 35
  • Bravo (B): Minimum players 25
  • Charlie (C): Minimum players 15
  • Delta (D): Minimum players 10
  • Echo (E): Minimum players 5

Challenge Settings For All Divisions:

We strongly recommend that admins follow the link (provided in the draw) to their opponent's profile page & use the 'Challenge Club' button. If that button isn't visible please contact the TMCL960 admins immediately!

The match name is advisory and no challenge should be rejected because of any mistake in the format. However, it would help us if 'TMCL960' and the round number were included. For example:-

TMCL960 2022 (div) R5 (add your team names if you wish) For (div) enter your division (A, B, C, D or E)

All challenges must be issued with the following settings:-

  • Game Type: Chess960
  • Starting Position: Standard
  • Days per Move: 3
  • Rating: Min / Max: Leave blank
  • Minimum Games: 10
  • Players per Team: Min: (as per each division in list above)
  • Players per Team: Max: Leave blank
  • Concurrent games per Opponent: 2
  • Start Time: 14/May/2022 (* see below)
  • Auto Start: No (leave blank, do not select!)
  • Games are RATED: Yes

* All matches must start at 22:00 (10 pm) UK timezone on the relevant date as given above. The following specimen match gives the settings required:-

Sample matchTMCL960 2022 R5: HQ vs OPPONENT

Copy the start time and any other settings into your own challenge and it will be correct but remember that the Minimum Players figure depends on your division.

It's important to get this right & no match with incorrect settings will be allowed. If you're still uncertain please ask for help by posting a question below...

Challenges must be accepted within five days of the draw posting date & matches must be open for registration no later than 8/May/2022!

Either team in a match may issue their challenge but should do so without delay. It's the responsibility of both teams to ensure that the challenge settings are correct & should there be any errors in those settings, the receiving team must cancel the challenge and issue a new one.

Evidence of a match challenge issued, in the form of the challenge url, must be posted below and we'll use this to decide on match forfeits if challenged teams fail to respond.

All matches must start at the specified time as given in the set-up instructions for the round and admins must not lock their teams, except by prior arrangement with the league admins.

Please encourage as many of your team members as possible to join up to the match.

Good luck!

3 . European League

EL2022 - European League Rules

The European League is a team match tournament between European national teams on chess.com.  The main purpose of the European League is to provide as many players as possible the chance to play against people from all of Europe in friendly competition.  All players are asked to choose one European League team to play for at the beginning of the year, and to stick with that team for the rest of the season.

In 2022, there are 5 round robin divisions. Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 have 10 teams and 9 rounds. Division 5 has 12 teams and 11 rounds. The rounds are scheduled in the months until July as follows:

January: Round 1,

- February: Rounds 2 and 3,

- March: Round 4,

- April: Round 5,

- May: Rounds 6 and 7,

- June: Round 8,

- July: Round 9 (and Round 10 for Div 5).

- August: Round 11 for Div 5

Teams can agree to play their match earlier or later, but all matches need to be started by September 15 2022. Final standings will be taken on December 31 2022.

World League 2022 matches can be used to count as matches for the European League 2022. Teams can agree to play two separate matches.

Scoring System: Teams will be awarded 1 point for every match they win, and ½ point for every match they draw.  Ties will be settled by the European League tiebreak, which is B*C for each match, where B is the percentage of board points won, assuming all unfinished games are draws, and C is the fraction of finished games in the match. When a team wins a match by forfeit, the average EL tiebreak per match for this team in this season is added to this team's tiebreak.

Team match scores will be adjusted for all closed accounts and for players that are playing for multiple teams (in 2 or more matches for each of 2 or more teams).  A player whose opponent is subject to an adjustment will receive 2 points.  If both accounts are subject to an adjustment, the points will be split 1:1 regardless of the actual result.

The aim of the European League is to keep to divisions of 10 teams. If this aim makes it possible, there will be 2 promotions and 2 relegations per division.

Admins are asked not to delete players from the roster or group, and they may lose matches by disqualification if they do.

Admins have the option to remove players from the roster when these have a timeout percentage of 25% or higher.

Multiplayer lists will be provided. Please make sure to regularly check them and use them to fix all multiplayer cases quickly. Tell all your players they have to choose one single EL team for all of 2022,  and make sure they will only remain on the rosters of one single EL2022 team.

REMARKS

  1. We are happy to see that thanks to the European League organizer work over many years, very nearly every European country is represented in the European League with one team! Each team please kindly show their flag in the group profile and insert the following to their group description: “This team represents [name of country or nationality] in the European League.”
Make sure that at least 1, or better 2, active admins from the team join the European League group, so as to receive all relevant information. When there is a change, find new active admins and post an update to your list of admins in the European League List of Teams and Active Admins.
  2. Current standings and tables will be shown during the season, on https://chessteams.info --- thanks to puremind for implementing this great website! If a match is not shown in these standings when they are updated, or if a wrong match is shown there, please report it with the correct match link and information to the European League 2022 Match Links thread.
  3. The European League is designed so that the admins have great flexibility and great responsibility for organizing their matches nicely with each other, in fairness and with good communication. When you observe rule infractions that need fixing, please report them to the European League 2022 Problem Fixing forum thread.
  4. If you have any suggestions about how the European League can be improved, you can post them to the EL2023 Suggestions thread.
  5. For chatting and discussions, please use the European League Open Discussions thread. Help us to keep group notes to a useful and workable minimum.

RB65230

so based on what I have seen written for The local group, I am thinking the model used by European League is the one we should follow, which gives rules, challenge format, and schedule all in one.

Your comments would be appreciated, however I think a new forum should be used LocalGroup2022_Schedule  or _Guide; and our best speller should build ours there.

fkenyon

This is rather good as guidelines. I am hoping that we can simplify due to that we have fewer teams to deal with.
