I accepted a draw from my opponant, as I was not convinced that my passed pawn could achieve anything. Maybe I was right, maybe I was wrong. I was against a strong opponant who had a grade of 164 in old money and I was playing black, so I was very happy with a draw... See what you think...

Last night I went to see BPA v Chester. The last time I saw this fixture( back in the sixties, Chester ended our 5 game unbeaten run with a 2-1 win, this has been avenged. At half-time I was talking to a lad who said he supported Avenue until they went to Valley Parade ( I think this was a story he learnt on his granddad's knee) and then he went to support Burnley. If transport was that easy then, maybe we can expect an interest in travelling the opposite direction.

Paul Whitehouse's sixth win in a row kept Brighouse in the title race. I thought at one point we would have a repeat of last year( with two extra players!).
I managed to get my first point ever against Scarborough man of the moment Dave Patrick, so here is the game.

Todmorden enlisted another Lancastian last night. Looks like things are getting tougher for Brighouse( we play them next match). Let's hope even more are recruited ( I think Huddersfield got some too), My opinion is the attraction is chessnuts, how are other border regions doing?

Pete mentions Dave quirk of 'screwing' the piece, does anyone know of others, I'll mention my own before someone else does.
I have a habit of( after thinking so long- I'm getting a headache) of looking upwards, mumbling to myself and then making a move that I never bothered analysing. I prefer doing this when my opponent is away from the board, but some players never leave their seat. For the record last night's "wing and a prayer" was b4-b5.

On Monday (Haloween) Brighouse(2nd) play host to Courier(top). Last season Courier won 1/2 to 4 1/2. I doubt there will be two defaults this year. I didn't play last year so here is my game from the away fixture.

Two weeks later Peter gives Dennis the cigs. "How much do I owe you?" "sixty pounds." "SIXTY POUNDS!! where did you get these from?" "Scarborough"

I have posted on LOCAL- Clubs YORKSHIRE RESULTS , which has a website connection to chessnuts (as Jon is the author I used his address). The problem I have is that it is on page 2.
I think it should be near the top of page 1. Thus I would suggest we have YORKSHIRE RESULTS (Bradford), YORKSHIRE RESULTS (Calderdale).......etc
and thus where ever you are in Yorkshire chessnuts will be local, How do we find addresses???

Played my third game in this competition- third draw, that's three more than I used to get in a season(bring on the warferan).
Here's my game against Gary.
West Bretton had 1 1/2 start so we had to win over the board 4-2. That's a lot of pressure, normally if you lose, you count on a mate to win, here if you lose, you need 2 wins to compinsate.
