The fixture Sheffield B v Bradford Central has been postponed from 29/10 to 5/11. This has nothing to do with Avenue playing a fourth qualifying FA Cup game, the fixture was re-arranged before Avenue had got through the second round.

I notice that Richard Bowman defeated Peter Rooney( chessnuts) , but have not heard any bragging. I beat Peter on 26/10/04 and haven't shut up since. I have taken the scoresheet out of its gold frame for a few minutes and here it is.

Neil Hardy has expressed concern that Holme Valley may not be able to fulfil their 4 remaining fixtures in the Examiner on 19/10,8/11,23/11 &6/12; due to lack of players.
Can anyone help? Is there anybody out there? My own suggestion would be to bring in foreign players from Lancashire, as Calderdale have done( does anyone know if Martyn Hamer, Andrew Clarkson or Rob Tokeley would be available?)

Calderdale's seaon kicked off on the nineteenth of September ( both divisions). Last year's champions Huddersfield A started with a defeat and Div Two champs Todmorden B could only draw, there is hope for us all. Wheatley had to default, hopefully this is just a hiccup.
Calderdale have a team in the Huddersfield Examiner competition (a handicap format) played 2 drawn 2. I was in the team played 2 drawn 2 , and what a lucky boy I have been!! TWICE. If anyone wants to see the games I will put them on.

The top two players in Div2 , Peter Hughes (152) and Carlos Velosa (144) played on Monday, Peter winning with white to maintain his 100% record.Top current five in Div 2 are; Peter Hughes 157(152),Carlos Velosa 144(144) Dave Colledge 144(143), Stuart Oliver 139(138), Joshua Blinkhorn 132( 136). Figures in brackets last year's grade.
I have not included Rob Tokeley185 for 2 reasons, he has only played one game and he is from Lancashire. This information comes from chessnuts, where you will find much more.
