Does anyone have any idea how much this set is worth?

i dont know if you know who frank kamarata is, but he started a company called 'house of stanton' and then sold it. frank is probably the world's biggest authority on chess pieces and also probably has the greatest collection of chess pieces, boards, and other chess related items in the world. if you dont know his story, you should google him. he is an incredibly interesting guy and basically did what you did--only with staunton pieces instead of isle of lewis.

I just got a cheap set from The House Of Staunton. Plastic pieces for $40 (I'm getting ready to return to tournaments, needed a set). They're in Louisiana I think. They sent a cool catalog with all their nice wooden sets in it. Nice sets.

yeah i thought they were in alabama. i know frank is. but he hasnt been a part of the company for ten or fifteen years. i've looked at their catalogue too and they have alot of beautiful sets. many are really pricey.

Alabama sounds right. I knew it was one of the states to the right of me, about 1 or 2 inches over on the map.

Do tell how putting a dark square on the right corner helps us see the pieces.
