I missed 28. e6+! Could take his Q. I missed it by purpose, because i've seen many moves ahead !
Mikhail Tal

I guess the time controls were short enough to make white miss 24.Qxg7+ as well as 28.e6+ (picks up a queen for free), and Black 28...Qc6, after which he has a probably decisive material advantage.

Maybe it was the time controls, or maybe it was the fact that he's a 1650 vs. your 2300 level analysis. He's excited with a still pretty combo. Give him a break, eh?

It's not time controls, it's my level.
As for ... e6+, it appears that i'd lose knight in exchange for Q. And I'm not excited, posted it just to get some fun into thread. :)
As for 24. Qxg7+ - Yes, You spotted it right, simply i was looking some line to finish the game, not to gain material. I never managed to calculate at right moment.

One move combos are hardly characteristic of the 2300+ level.
But still, this shouldn't be an issue for a 10-minute game, factly some combos of the kind may well be missed by 2300+ players a few times.

You should be excited. Nice combo in G/10. Sweet.

10 Min blitz 2100 like tal https://www.chess.com/live/game/2165923200

Im responding to an old Post, BUT because its TAL, I MUST !....Tal like someone said evolved through the years, not only becoming a more "rational" if not many sided player, but setting the record for most games played without a loss, and then BREAKING his own record...and this was in his so called "Twilight Years"...BUT to answer your query, he played the Kings Indian and Benoni against D4 during most of his years but as he grew older, the Slav and Meran and all the variations therof crept into his repertoire ...VS "E4" he played the Sicilian most of the time though E5 also was played ...he was equally adept at either side of the Spanish Game
No one like him before or since
Tal, our "Poet Laureate" of Chess

OP is a bit misguided but you people don't have to belittle the life out of him. He just admires Tal's playstyle.

None of you have answered what openings Tal played. The question was not, "How to replicate Tals Style" he asked, What openings he played
Has Marquavious_Britt been here since 2012? Anyway: http://www.chessgames.com/player/mikhail_tal.html

I'm halfway to playing like Tal. I've got the giving away pieces part down pat. I'm just having trouble with the winning afterwards part.

Tal, like Kasparov, played the Sicilian from both sides, The Ruy Lopez from both sides, and from Blacks side "The Benoni, and Kings Indian, > In later days also included the "French" defense. In early days, as "White", Tal played E4 more than anything, "D4" more often as he matured, and even "C4"
Cheers
10 min. Blitz.
I tip my hat to you. And probably my King, too.
