I could lose first game in under ten moves. 

I know it is a different variant, but Dobby has beaten ry 4 times in event chess. He has also had decent positions against me in both event chess and bulldog with spirit. He might not be one of the strongest players here, but he is a quite solid player and shouldn't be underestimated.

But even if there is an upset, there will be a losers bracket, although that losers bracket might not be easy since ry is playing against McGoohan in the first round.

I am not undefeated in color chess, but I have been on a winning streak since my rating went above 1800 to my current rating of 1966. My latest win against tomnorf only gave me 4 rating points and a different win only gave me 2. I don't remember how much my 2 wins against #2 rated was worth, but it was definitely a speed boost compared to other games.

I try not to underestimate anyone. Losing to landontu in 7 moves or whatever it was demonstrates how easily I can overlook things. And I dumped a queen to a simple fork. I spend a lot of time looking at my attacking options, and not much time looking at my defence. Anyone can beat me. But I also know that on a good day, I can beat nearly everyone here that I've seen play, the only exception being Martin. 

I really do hope I get to play Martin again soon, so I'll be doing my best to get as far as the semis.

Q1: If all the losing players want to keep going we can have a complete "double elimination". But at a minimum, the two losing players from the semi-finals (2 games of 4 players) should play each other. Therefore the Final decides 1st and 2nd place, and the consolation game decides 3rd place.

Q2: The bulldog federation is a club of six members (me, aidanB1, Martin0, evert823, Fly-Eagles-Fly, Junebug444), who set the formal rules for bulldog games, and also decide the formats for deciding who can challenge the World Champion. Just so you're aware, bulldog is a "class" of games. It's always on a 10x8 board, with a few variant pieces (witch, guard, spirit, etc). The Federation decides which games are allowed as "rated" (used to calculate player's ELO ratings).

Btw, the most recent candidates tournament is in it's final game now (Auk vs McGoohan). The winner of that will challenge Martin0 to see if Martin keeps his crown or not. After that the federation will probably set-up another candidates tournament (probably four players again, based on strength and other merits).

There's also a bulldog club (here). Not sure if you're in it yet.

I don't think we need more members in the federation right now (although that is just my opinion). I think 3-5 members is enough.
