A feature which is missing

 I am not sure if anybody has suggested this yet, but I didn't really notice the notification that one is under check or checkmate once playing, the move list is the only thing that lets you know, but it would be nice for smth else to show up somewhere around the chessboard in big letters with a bright colour to let you know that ur under check, i know its mostly evident, but just to make sure. also same would be great in analysis board, so when making a few moves you can be sure that the other player will be under check, but most importantly under checkmate! thank u

you should have "check" appear when it takes place and at the time of a checkmate this word should appear as well.  this notice "checkmate" in yellow when you win the game as you win it.  it has a nice feel to it when you see those big yellow letters when you win.  it is like a prize.

When you play OTB chess for real, you don't announce check (it might even be illegal and it is surely rude to people around you).  I would hate to be playing bullet chess and have some stupid box announcing check or some noise playing.  If they put in this (idiotic) feature, they better let us disable it...

the issue is contextual.  this is not blitz or otb chess.  it is delayed chess, often played with many games and for probably most players, a recreational time.  this notice improvement would improve the enjoyment of the majority of players here and it is from the majority that there is the largest possibility of subscriptions.  i realize that very good and serious players do not think this is necessary.

i also firmly agree that any notices or chat items in blitz is a very poor idea.

You think that you need to announce check on online chess?  There are players out there who have 3 days to make a move and don't notice they are in check?  I'll bet they produce some deep analysis anyway, just with a little flaw....

I guess but needing help to notice you are in check when you have 3 days to make a move is way out in the tail.  Catering to that group is probably not very smart business as most of them are not going to play chess very often or for very long, buy much chess stuff, have many chess playing friends to encourage to join chess.com, etc..
