I would like to archive any forum post that I am tracking or in any of the forum categories that are  60 days or more as the list keeps growing up and I am at a loss to track the recent postings. It would free up the live or active components to display on the site, I call it maintenance.

What purpose does it serve to keeps active records so long? In a manufacturing environment a 90 days was max, what ever you prefer?

i don't understand. explain

I am refering to all forum posts that I have access to, topics that I am tracking, topics that I have posted in and topics that I have started.

I would like to be able to remove them from the specific forum that I am looking at so that the number of posts is reduced to not only a manageable size but also to keep only those topics that I want to.

If you want to archive them fine with me with but for myself when I delete something I rarely need it back.

You could have a recovery feature for people that delete by mistake.

Trust this clarifies my view.

then just unsubscribe from them?

Whenever there is a conditional move set in a game, could that be marked somehow (just like how the Notes tab has an astrisk by it when there are notes in there), so we don't have to go into the Conditional Moves to see that there are active conditional moves pending.  Just an idea...thanks!

Actually, if this isn't radically difficult to implement, I would really like to see this too.  There are many times when I am on Chess.com and looking all around, but not at any of my games.  In the past, I have gotten flack for that from opponents (e.g. "you are on but not moving, what is up?").  Perhaps you could set that as a setting in our profile?

we already built that - it's called "logging off" :)

Ok, I'll give you that one -- nice!  Well stated... Wink

I've often wished that after a game is over, I could use the analysis board to back it up, and try variations other than the ones actually played.  That would help a player (i.e. me) understand his ridiculous blunders by seeing what else he could have played, and how it might have transpired.

But the list is fabulous. Should keep the programming team busy for at least the rest of the week.

When you offre draw you sometimes forget about it. And when your opponent refuses you offer it again bwecause you dont remember that you offered it before(this is especially the case if player is playing mor than 15 games).

So can there be some notation or some "thing" that tells you that you offered a draw in a game and when.

2nd the Great computer analysis feature remark.  But it could be improved.

Please allow a simple way to share the results with opponent and other players.

This costs no extra computing time on the chess.com end, but increases the value of the feature immensely.

Love to have a way to know when one week has elapsed so we can initiate a new computer analysis request! :)

Maybe a simple alert would be great!

When playing on line with someone it would be most usefull to be able to have a place somewhere on the chessboard window, a few boxes available to enter some info about the player we are challenging, and I do realize that I can go to her/his profile and find it but this is cumbersome and time consuming especially if one plays against more than 5 players, so let's say have 6 boxes available to enter our own info, the opponent's basic characteristics information that we find pertinent about the player we play against such as :

1. What is age is. To me it tells me that the opponent has just started to play chess or has a string of years of some or much experience playing the game.

2. How long has he been playing chess.May indicate the depth of his moves.

3. Her/his rating with USCF or Elo system base.

4. Any preference in openings?

5. Any feature that I want to write in such as: she/he prefers this type of opening or if on line she/ he wants to play quickly.

6. Maybe some of the extra chess curricular activities.

7. A spare box?

Sorry by paul211 for you sound like the Gestapo only a little bit lazier!

How are you gonna know that the info that the person applies is real,it's just time consuming with a very little realistic result,I ain't having a go at you for I'm only try to point out the weakness in your demands, respect,

Gabriel!

P.S,I play well over 100 games at once, does that mean that I'll need 100+ boxes,to keep track?

It would be nice to have an option in tactics trainer to review all failed problems from that recent problems list so they come in sequence as normal problems. This would have to be unrated of course.

I do this reviewing manually, but it is really kind of awkward and slow process so I think this would be great improvement in tactics trainer.

Among the custom positions one should be able to start games from there should be handicapped positions with one player missing a pawn or piece, etc.

WCopeland

Being able to view your Live games in your database so as to train openings with them, etc.

stevez

I would like a chess.com gadget for my google homepage that tells me when it's my move in games I am playing.  Basically identical to my alerts box.

Erik, it seems that people are asking for features that have already been added but are hard to find.  Is there any chance you could give a list of the things that have been implemented?

Jace-Arveduin

anyway to make it look like a ripoff of vistas chess titans? 3D and porcelain pieces on wooden board looks pretty cool... i would say adding a noob section would be nice but some ppl might take advantage of it Frown (if someone else has mentions this im sorry, too late to read 4 pages of replys)

Would this be in terms of individual posts or whole topics? If individual posts: would you consider making individual posts referenceable and bookmarkable?

Basically, a Contact Database. Outlook and Maximiser are common examples of external programs that provide this functionality. They are handy when you are dealing with many different people at irregular times. Sales people use them a lot to keep track of leads. The smarter applications recognise incoming phone numbers and automatically open the DB at the right entry. Nothing very sinister - but arguably not a core part of chess.com either (though I would find it neat).

Live chess - would be nice to be able to change the default order of the seek list.  I always immediately change it to sort by time because I prefer quick games.

Thanks for the reply Erik.  I was thinking more along the lines of a "share" button that allows one or more members look at the same output result.  There could also be common notes or comments field.

While the PGN solution is nice, it requires leaving chess.com and uploading to another program.  In an 'ideal' online chess community, I would never need to leave the site to utilize community benefits.

One other thing, and this goes back to As I mentioned in the 2nd suggestion post, I would enjoy a "play from this move" button on finished games.  This would allow a previous game to be restarted while having all of the game options of a new game eg time settings, rated/unrated, and the like.

Thanks again,

once you have the PGN you can paste it into the Diagram Editor in the forums or a message. :)
