I just discovered this forum, read through all the comments, and can confidently say that I am fully in support of Hornet.
What chess.com did was not right. Although Colin did issue his concerns toward the topic Hornet had chosen, the tone of his message indicated that Hornet was free to proceed and publish his blog without having to worry about any consequences. Hornet even went as far as to add an opening note completely and thoroughly indicating his stance on Hitler's actions.
Publishing a photo of Hitler does not correlate in any way to the promotion of his actions. This ideology is utterly false. Images of historical figures can, in fact, be used inform, entertain, and educate others across the digital universe, not just to further political agendas or to publicize certain beliefs. In fact, as already pointed out, @Green_Sleeves, a Jew, said in his own words that he enjoyed the blog and that the content within it had no connection whatsoever to Hitler and his disgusting actions.
I know chess.com will probably ignore this post, but I want my position to be abundantly clear throughout this situation. Hornet did nothing wrong, and I hope chess.com and all of its staff can see it in the same light. I truly hope Hornet's Top Blogger status is up for consideration, but until then I will continue to fully support this movement.
