Why was he banned?

Chess.com obviously wants its members to be happy with the way the site is run, as much as possible, so constructive criticism is welcome.  If staff or mods are abusing their positions, they want to know that too.

What if chess dot com decides to do some cleansing? What if many of us revolutionary fathers wake up on hell instead of earth because erik killed us? They can just explain our deaths away by saying we posted nasty stuff on the forums and it has been deleted. This is worrying.

Is there any 2nd amendment? Should chess.com create a constitution? Should we move to a random island in the middle of the pacific and start our own chess dot com nation?

Why does easter represent less traffic? I thought you were supposed to stay on your home and pray. Not go party on Mexican beaches. Impressive to see the USA has the fakest christian population on earth with over 280 million people destined to hell.

I prefer praying in my home, not on my home.  But as beautiful as it outside today?  It may not be a bad idea praying on my home.  Thank You!

How does Easter represent less traffic.?...shock.png    Without getting this thread locked for religion.......Easter is not a U.S.A invention. The servers may be LOCATED in Calif, but Easter is a WORLDWIDE holiday. Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, etc have been celebrating Easter for hundreds of yrs and lat I checked, this IS a worldwide site.

@ Postafi.

wtf are you talking about? This is a commercial website run according to the rules of the owners, not a democracy under attack.

What are you going to do in terms of "legitimate resistance"? Post on an internet forum? That'll stop the forces of evil in their tracks.

Ridiculous.

RonaldJosephCote

LOL.   countless?..shock.png.....really?surprise.png  like SOOoo many banned members they CAN'T be counted?shock.png.....Holy CRAP!frustrated.png

What do you expect?  Do you really expect chess.com to publish all IP logs, abuse reports they've received, etc., for every single banned member?

What I said was we only have chess.com's word for this story about @myratingis1523 and countless others.

We also have the obvious evidence of Chess.com's tolerance towards people clearly hostile to the site. @MyRatingis1523 was one of those, but clearly he's crossed a line somewhere along the way.

I wonder who else might be heading in that same direction? wink.png

No, but I do expect no slandering of someone who is unable to defend himself/herself. Extremely poor form.

But isn't that exactly what you're wanting chess.com to do by telling you why people were banned?  All chess.com says is that they violated site rules in some way.

In post 6 you said, "MyRating is some of the "hundreds" that have fallen".  Gleason followed with "could be a few dozens", then much later your the 1st one to mention "countless" members.  Its actually true. In the 10+ yrs the site been going they've probably deleted thousands of accounts. Don't know why......don't care why. I've only got one thing to say to the dearly departed.....Bye happy.png

You also have the freedom to complain about the rules.

Not complaining.

While you're all here mobbing some harmless silly topic, the edit/quote bug is still there.

I think it's fixed now.

Say someone is a mild troll in the forums, but also has a dozen other accounts they are using to tag-team troll, etc.  Nothing that they're doing at any one account would be enough to earn a ban, but having a dozen accounts that they're using to tag-team troll different threads and stir up controversy is definitely enough to get banned.  Suppose they've been warned for this and had all the sockpuppet accounts closed, and they create new ones.  Staff have enough of it and close the original account.  (this scenario has happened multiple times).

What would you want chess.com to do?

To you, it would look like several dozen people just got banned for actions that didn't really deserve it.  You wouldn't know that all those accounts were really the same person.  Would you want chess.com to broadcast to the world that all these accounts were the same person?  Is there really anything to be gained by that?
