I like the idea of a piece that generates other pieces as with the Shaman.
1. Shaman. Value: 3
Takes position of a Knight, but only moves left and right one space. It can generate pawns with lanes that do not have any.
2. Crook. Value: 4
Takes position of a d/e file pawn(?). Can go straight like a rook, but captures like a Bishop.
3. Soldier. Value: 2
Takes position of an a/h file pawn. It is a normal pawn, even obeying rules such as En Passant but can attack backwards diagonally.
4. Gear. Value: 6/4
Unknown position for now. When first on board, it attacks like a rook. But, the player can use a turn to make the gear turn to make it attack diagonally.
5. Pole-Vaulter. Value: 5
Unknown position also. Can move 5 squares each side like a rook. What’s special is that it can hop over pieces to capture pieces that could not be captured via rook.
That’s all for now. Any suggestions? Leave them for me to see. No hate, these are just for fun. 😃
