It is 1:00 am and I have a HUGE headache ... which I got from playing chess for 2 hours straight today. What should I do?

?? Get some sleep. Undecided

I only get headaches from chess when I'm losing.

At least you don't see chessboards all the time when you close your eyes Undecided

Obviously you didn't play enough. I say play for more 3 or 4 hours and you'll have a beautiful headache-free day tomorrow.

Aspirin or brandy - the one fixes it, the other makes you not give a darn Smile

What? That's not even one whole serious game.

You should probably see a doctor if you get headaches from playing chess for a few hours.

IF YOU WEAR GLASSES.. PROBLEM COULD BE FOCAL DISTANCE TO SCREEN.    My optician recommended intermediate focus glasses to use and these make big improvement for me. But everyone needs periodic breaks from screen work- it  used to be minimum 10 mins in every hour when, years ago, I worked in an airline reservations office.

I has found that chess sometimes gives me AIDS, but me always gets over it - these Alcohol Induced Dizzy Spells is nearly always fixable by hittin´the hay Laughing

Ceramic royal hounds no doubt.

It's probably your monitor, not the chess itself.

I've been lobbying for a chess.com implant that bypasses your ocular system altogether in favour of a direct dedicated signal into the brain so that I might be able to enjoy pure, unadulterated chess.com without the eyestrain and inevitable headaches that come with it.

If I could get this, and some means of mainlining coffee I'd be a happy, happy man.

Yeah, just get sleep. It happens to me all the time, you just have to rest your mind and it goes away.
