Bullet Chess is Monkey Chess

Bullet is stupid. The player who has played more always wins. You NEVER have a chance. It would be like Mark Wahlberg trying to kill the Avengers.
I've never played bullet and I have zero interest in it. It's just a chess variant imo and a rather bad one. I'm sure a lot of games come down to mouse vs touchscreen (i'd imagine touchscreen has an advantage) or its a battle of internet speed. I'm also afraid if I get hooked on bullet I might start acting like YuriAdamov 😧

Bullet chess is not monkey chess..........do titled players play monkey chess? every day, every minute a person could click on live chess and find quite a few titled players playing bullet or 3 min blitz games.
i view it like this: many compare chess to art, i am in this camp. now, i would not consider myself an artist, so please take this with a grain of salt. there are players who believe if you play anything less than a 30/30 game, you are not playing real chess. some believe anything less than a 10 min blitz game is a waste. however, my arguement would be: did all the classical artists like Michealangelo, Da Vinci, or even modern ones as Picasso, Van Gogh, or Monet, only make art by sitting down at an easel? No. they had sketchbooks, and would draw as their heart desired. were all these sketches or even scribbles masterpieces? nope. were they a waste? absolutely not. it was the release of ideas, same as a bullet game to a master player. you will only get out of it what you desire to take from it. myself, i play bullet only to try to train my brain to process a little faster, that's it. I was having a problem playing blitz as i was constantly in winning positions but losing on time or because of time induced pressure. not long after starting bullet, my blitz rating started to climb as i was losing alot less games on time.
ya know, calling it monkey chess is kind of insulting to those who do enjoy bullet chess. just because it is not your cup of tea does not mean anyone has to show their disdain.........

I've quit bullet because 10,000 wins is as near perfect as anything I'm likely to achieve with chess.

Bullet is soo enjoyable, when you are high rated. Then you go and destroy 80% of players : ) They are all so agressive, smashing them is pure joy =D
chess is a waste of time we should all be spending time with our friends and families instead because one day we will all be dead and with that time u could have done something for useful instead of playing a board game and its not like chess is getting us closer to curing cancer or anything but the universe doesnt care nothing is important and nothing last forever

perhaps you didnt read close enough, i said it helped me think a little faster. and yet, GM Nakamura has stated he likes to use bulletchess to explore new ideas, hhmmmmmmmmm, perhaps you spoke too soon?

and, actually, many teachers say bullet or blitz is a great way to learn an opening. quite often, i have read, that when looking for new opening, many recommend exploring which opening may appeal to your tastes, then playing a bunch of blitz games to decide if you like the opening. again, it just a tool, to be used how wished.

Ofcourse bullet can improve beginner/intermidiate player. Well maybe not for many, but some. It did it for me. All my chess was 1-3 min chess until end 2014/beginning 2015. No rapid no over the board (probably 15 games for 15 years.). Strong at quick chess, weak at slow chess. I learned so much. Some correct things some not correct. It improved my vizualization, my board awereness, my intuition, sense of danger, when and where to attack, helped me a lot with patterns. I did not played careless, like many here - hope chess. Always checking if square is safe. But first i have watched tons of videos how to play "corectly"from masters, and not going for cheap traps like everybody from move 2.. One bad thing is lack of calculation, which you need for longer time controls. Thats why at some point, when you played enough, tried openings etc. a one should continue with longer time controls and to study.
Beginner can't see, does not know and cant calculate much even if he has all the time in the world he wont make good moves. All what he needs is chess experience : ) And did i meantionned you will have tons of fun :-P , But for some, specially if losing much might get frustrated and hate it like some people here ;)
After some considerable research, I've decided that Bullet chess IS a waste of my time.
Consider this: I've spend a little less than 3 days total playing bullet chess, which is basically pushing pieces around and hoping to achieve something.
It's not chess. So I'm not going to play it.
