Yes bullet is a kiddies game......for immature chess players who are not ready for the real thought envoking big brother or a bit of a stress shedder for seasond players of real chess who are awaiting a move in the real game...like a sideshow during the interval! Snips will not challenge me......i rest my case!!!!

if you want to play me, go right ahead and shoot across the challenge.

Its shocking this thread is still going on, and that people are still entertaining this nonsense that this egomaniac snipz has created.

Did anyone yet mention that OTB-Bullet takes way more skill than online Bullet?

- You have to move AND press the clock manually.
- You might have to guess the remaining seconds on an analog clock.
- You must not push over pieces or the clock.
- You have to take care of "Touch-Move".
- You cannot premove or intellimove.
- You can make it even more skillful by using a small magnetic board and moving the pieces with a pincer or chopsticks!

The latter is then commonly called Ultra Xtreme Chinese Magneto-ChopStick Lightning Chess.
Instead of a chessclock, a (usually young, female and only minorly dressed) time-keeper is used with two flasks of water that are turned on top if it is your move. You need to play fast enough to keep them rotating as you lose once all water ran out.

Absolutely it does. Several friends of mine play not only 1 and 3 min OTB games but also in bughouse and crazyhouse chess. All 3 are wild and i love them though i agree with MQ that the only real game is the long game, preferably OTB with a human since then it is kind of hard to get away with running an engine to get your moves (though i have known it to happen).

Yep, bullet is the game where a talented player at it can defeat a Grandmaster. Yet when he does, his opponent still has his title, and the bullet player doesn't.

My opinion, bullet and blitz are for players that can't succeed at regular chess, so stick to the quick games for their fortune and glory. Pity, regular chess takes more skill, and accurate ches is better chess. Bullet and Blitz chess are full of errors.

Giving the ratings differential, you might want to change you username to @Deathwish-2.

Aww-rats...one o fmy club members got his norm....gratz (unless you have had it for a bit).

on to something a bit different...is there a way to determine if you are experiencing server lag (pinging?) I keep losing 1 min games when my opponents time is running but really it is mine running. That or they are getting increment time added, which i do not think can happen here.

NO FEAR ZBORG.....HE HAS PROB SEEN MY 1660 ONLINE CHESS COMPARED TO HIS 1330 AND RUN A MILE DESPITE HIS PING PONG BULLET RATING OF 1900 WHICH MEANS DIDDLY IN REAL CHESS ;-)

Wonderful.

Bullet chess takes more skill, but being skilled at classical chess is way more important. I'm only about 1800 USCF, but people congradulate me all the time. (I'm 12. I honestly don't think 1800 is great, but that's not the point.) I am also very good at speed chess (which if you check my account, might seem like a lie, but online ches is different than OTB chess.) I beat experts and masters pretty regularly. But who really cares? People care about classical chess, because that is where the SMART chess is played. (SmatER, let me make that, because you can't really consider all classical chess smart.)

Guys the only reason why i said bullet chess took more skill is because this thread was a clear troll. In my honest opinion, I find blitz chess (5 0) to be the actual basis of longer games, and this has helped me perform over 2200 otb on many occacsions. Bullet is all about having fun and letting some steam off after a hard day at work etc.

I was horrible at regular chess. After a wrenching defeat to Carlsen I almost quit the game forever. Then I discovered bullet chess. I realized that bullet chess used completely different pieces than regular chess and the pay was much better. After grueling cardio and calesthenics exercizes I was able to defeat Carlsen with my pure bullet speed and regained my rightful place as champion. After my win I became a chess god and had groupies as far as the eye could see.

I was invited onto TV shows like "60 minutes" and "The Late Show with David Letterman." I was soon knighted and got to meet Emma Watson. She's really great.

You losers need to quit that regular chess and get some of this fame and glory.

Great job Summing Up the entire thread is a single post.

Fear_ItseIf

yeah, and everyone was just getting confused from the complexity of it all

Another great job Summing Up.  Are we all BFFL now?

Bullet is too fast for my old bones.  Game in 5/5 is about as fast as I am capable.

Even then, I only play one or two opening systems with each color.
