I'm just trying to understand something. I really like chess but I'm not very good. There is something that really bothers me and I want to know if I'm just being dumb. I hate when I get beat and I'm down to my king against someone who still has like queen knight pawn. why do I have to wait for someone to March that pawn across the board for another queen instead of just going for checkmate? I know I could resign but I would rather get a chance at a stalemate then lose. What is the etiquette here? If I'm being silly, please tell me.
