It happened in the current European Championships.  It's nice to know these GM's are human!

When whites exchanges the queens, the knight fork is similar to todays daily puzzle.

I was going to spare his blushes, but... it was GM Sergey Grigoriants of Russia (2573 Elo) losing in 11 moves against Pavel Tregubov in the 6th round. Ouch!

i think he should have stuck in there...the game wasn't over yet not by a long shot..because with the knight fork black has to choose the rook OR  the queen..he can't take both

HUH? Ofcourse he will take the Q and he will be a piece up......GMs dont "play till the bitter end" against other GMs when a piece down, they know its a waste of time.

I remember a game in which Karpov also lost a piece in the opening with GM Larry Christiansen and Karpov also immediately resigned.....even the greats do blunder from time to time....

A similar one. It was played once upon a time at a tournament in ex-Yugoslavia. Both players vere national of international masters. It look as an artificial game: a fork agaist two rooks in 6th move. Laughing
