nice
I was going to spare his blushes, but... it was GM Sergey Grigoriants of Russia (2573 Elo) losing in 11 moves against Pavel Tregubov in the 6th round. Ouch!
HUH? Ofcourse he will take the Q and he will be a piece up......GMs dont "play till the bitter end" against other GMs when a piece down, they know its a waste of time.
Interesting, i dont blame that gm for making that mistake it looked like a normal game at the start >.>
Yes, here we are, one of the all-time greats:
How about this famous loss from the U.S. Championship:
A similar one. It was played once upon a time at a tournament in ex-Yugoslavia. Both players vere national of international masters. It look as an artificial game: a fork agaist two rooks in 6th move.
It happened in the current European Championships. It's nice to know these GM's are human!
