Isn't Vishy Anand considered an Asian?  Are Indians Asians?  Or are they not Asians?

How many superstrong Russians these days are from Asia, east of Ural? I guess Kasparov doesnt count because he became a Croatian,There are some Chinese players that are very strong. And at least two small kids from India will maybe get a +2700 rating in four, five or six years and after that 2800.

Levon Aronian, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Viswanathan Anand, Ding Liren and Yu Yangyi all live, and compete in Asia.  Wesley So and Hikaru Nakamura were born there.

Kasparov, Dmitry Jakovenko and Karpov are probably some of the strongest 'Russians' born in the Asian parts of the Soviet Union.
