Should AFK people get banned?

So this happened to me: I was playing against a 500 rated Player. and They went AFK I had I went to YouTube for a couple videos and then I return to chess.com and is I lost because It abandoned in the game because I was in another app

How can Chess.com know the difference between AFK and thinking? Even if there were a way to detect it, why should thinking while AFK be banned? How can Chess.com know the difference between thinking and not thinking? Even if there were a way to detect it why should a pause in thought be banned?

I agree with Craig on this. How would this site know and why would they care anyway? If that's the case then it's way too intrusive, players can do other stuff if they want.
