The abort button changing to the resign button is cruel and not right

Dearest Martin,

I hope this finds you well. Listen, I just lost my first rapid game in like 8 games because chess.com thinks its funny to cheat its members. I clicked "abort" because the opponent wasn't moving, then I clicked "abort" again on the next match because ... again, he wasn't moving. Then, the next match well he was just too low of a rating, it was laughable, so I clicked abort. Come to find out, I LOSE THE GAME. Why? Because without telling you, chess.com changes the "abort" button to "resign". I click what I think is "abort" only to click "resign".

Martin listen, I know you are a busy man. But this is an EASY FIX. Just have a message that pops up when abort is no longer allowed that says "abort is no longer available". DON'T JUST CHANGE IT TO THE RESIGN BUTTON. SERIOUSLY WHO THOUGHT OF THIS?????

please change it, thank u

Also the analysis taking 30 years to appear on the same place as the rematch button after the match ends. So annoying. Who the hell asks for rematch, anyway?

And the hint button taking forever to be clickable on the puzzles after getting the move wrong doesn't look very good, either.

You deserve it. Good move chess.com. Next make it so that aborting after any move is made is a loss.

when in doubt, blame a mod (martin, specifically)

If you avoi too often, as a percentage of recent completed games, you lose the ability to abort. You don't have to abort if your opponent doesn't move, the system automatically will count games as abandoned. Though, you might refresh to make sure you're not disconnected.

It's pretty obvious when the abort option is gone.

You aborted against a 1200 and your own rapid rating is 1200. Is that the game you are referring to? If you accept a match and then back out then it is no different from auto-resigning. I don't see a problem.

I thought my name was easy enough to read. And aborting games ought to be more strongly dissuaded. People's connection dropping out isn't their fault, but they cop losses for it. Intentionally starting a game then quitting in a fit of pique ought to count as a loss. Don't want to play against this or that opening, or randomly got black again, or 'My god, this dude is using his time efficiently and I want to play like bullet...' resign. Too easy. thumbup.png

Chess.com will not cross Ye. Not after he cried.

Sorry, no more aborts.

Similarly all religious topics have to go. There can be only one.

Get in line with Ye

It doesn't change ur rating, right?  If no moves r made it's like the game never happened.  That's what I thought... unless the site changed that.  If the site did change ratings when nobody moved it's not right.
