Why was MSC157 muted??????!! MSC case #2

Actually, someone from Chess.com can log on as the Daily Puzzle account, and then block MSC; that way he can't post there.
Or, Chess.com could actually post the DP as a forum post manually and not automated, so this wouldn't happen (how a bug that allows this to happen got into the website I have no idea).
Your right about the first part, but I do not think the bug is specific only for dailypuzzle. It has happened in a regular forum that someone managed to post before the OP. I would post the link to a forum where that happened if I could, but the place I would find the link is in one of MSC-s forums :/
Not being humble, that was my achievement.

Not all the ppl wants to know the answer before trying the puzzle and really it's annoying seeing his comments everyday. But wait... MSC is it you NewArdweaden? Hahahaha.
I am not MSC157.

Nice! Sorry I didn't remember that it was your achievement.
To be honest I'm amazed this thread hasn't been deleted - it beats me why the site lets a narcissistic individual like MSC run rings round them - admin why not just delete all these posts along with the MSC comments on the puzzle page and have done with it.

Meh, the moderation here has always been pretty loose. Not a bad thing.
When well known people have left in the past, topics have often been created about it. This isn't so different IMO.
And letting people talk about it, it seems to me, actually prevents it from becoming a big deal -- not the opposite.
It detracts from the site - what are newcomers to the puzzle meant to think when they first log on and find 'unmute MSC' in large orange text under the puzzle ?
It's time all the support for a muted player was deleted and if necessary mute the offenders.
Like I said before I think the best way to tackle the problem for good is to delete his account and all posts about him - in a matter of a few days he'll be history and the site will be a better place for it.
Who runs the site MSC and his lackeys or the site admin ?
For both chess.com and MSC, it's less about having control and more about making it a nice community.
Either way, mass mutes / deletes seems drastic and unnecessary.
NewArdweaden does seem a little childish, but why warn and mute him/her? I can see how posting a solution to the puzzle could upset a few idiots who can't ignore it before they attempt the puzzle themselves i.e. I can see why they mute MSC. But the first page of the puzzle is usually junk anyway, so "unmute MSC" seems pretty harmless.
And they already moved this topic to off topic.

Seems like getting rid of that junk would go a long way towards making this a nice community.
Childish races to be "first" don't add anything of value whatsoever.

Exactly - first the no1 spammer gets muted but now the site admin allow all his henchmen to carry on his mindless spam.
Just delete all the 'unmute MSC' spam etc and give the offenders a warning that any repeat offence will result in a muting.
The problem could be solved in a matter of days.

Sure, but posting "first" isn't a phenomenon unique to chess.com. It would be a lot of work to police that, and it's something most people are used to seeing everywhere else.

Maybe I just hang out in classier establishments on the internet, but the ONLY other place I see this kind of stuff is in the bottomless pit of disgusting that is the comments on youtube videos.
It doesn't have to be hard work at all. You just have to come down hard, punishing those that do it and banishing those that choose to be repeat offenders. The problem won't get fixed overnight, in large part because the staff has allowed it to fester in the mess is it now...but the problem is most definitely fixable. It just takes a willingness to have a forum instead of a zoo.

I agree on all points :)

That's exactly the point I'm making - it's not hard work at all it just needs a firm hand by the moderating team to show people who runs the site.
If they issue a warning that all 'MSC messages' will be deleted and any further ones will result in a muting followed by account deletion, after 24 hrs people will get the message and few days later he'll be history.
The issue has only gotten out of hand because the moderating team have let it get that way - let's face it the offender gets umpteen warnings and at least one muting but carries on regardless and even has the audacity to try and use the site to promote his own 'official tournaments' !
What on earth is going on when the site allows a muted individual to continually use the site to promote his own ego ?
His account should have been deleted long ago.
The site will never improve and get rid of the 'ghost of MSC' till they either mute him for good (or delete his account) and similarly stop any further comments about him.
Come on moderators - show some backbone and clear him and his henchmen off the site for good.

Moderator's, please get rid of Gustav_Holst account. He made a comment about [he who shall not be named] and therefor should be removed along everyone else making comments about [He who shall not be named] since [he who shall not be named] got muted.
I think that policy sounds reasonable to not allow any discussion about muted and banned accounts.
