Clearing the browser cache might help. That's done differently by different browsers, so can't really give step by step instructions, but if you look in the browser's help for clear cache it should point you in the right direction.

Here you go :)

Your browser cache stores copies of the most recent websites that you have visited. When you revisit those sites your computer will just display those copies if the websites were not updated. This makes things go faster because you don't have to wait for a page to download if you already have it in the cache. :)

@king - I'm sorry to hear that didn't work out for you. Honestly, I'm not sure what could be done. Your browser can probably disable script which might take care of the problem, but then the pages might not display properly. You can go to Tools -> Options and deselect 'enable Javascript' and then click 'OK' (in Firefox) to see if that helps. In Internet Explorer the directions is probably similiar, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure what script is slowing down your computer. :)

Come on people, please!!! Anybody else. Is there a posibility that some virus can be the reason of this. I scaned my computer with NOD and it said no treat found.

Hopefully somebody will help you out. You can also try a system restore. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System Restore. You can pick a date before you had the download troubles. Your computer will be restored like it was back on the date you choose. Any changes made on your computer (saved documents, updates, etc...) between that date and now will be undone. I'm not sure if that will help out or not. :)

Go down local bar, have large vodka, ask who is the local tecno whizz, get him to come an' look at your equipment and set up - if he can't solve the problem, take large hammer, hit computer with it, then go and find someone who wants to sell their comp

Try Google Chrome browser.
Lots of people on the web report this mysterious slowing down, especially with Firefox, but no-one has a real theory as to what the cause is.
One suggestion is to create a new profile in Firefox. All of your web bookmarks would stay in the original profile.
Also try Safari browser and Opera browser.

Hm...good advice. Than I'll take that hammer again, and visit the bastard who coused this, knock on his door ...

It's a tactics of chess.com. The chess.com is built with these java scripts so that it slows to load the pages of chess.com. You must be a Premium Member to avoid these scripts. No other ways !
There are a couple days since my IE cannot download any page (only on chess.com) as fast as before. I usualy wait 3- 4 minutes to download any page here, it is so anoying. It often say ,,Skripts on this page may couse IE to run slowly''. And under that line there is buttons YES and NO, sometimes i press yes sometimes no but nothing changed. I tried and Firefox and the same thing. Since I almost don't know nothing about computers, could anyone help me to solve this, please.
