How come I'm often not notified when somebody resigns or loses on time?
You should NEVER be notified. The only on-screen message (while you are going on to the Next Game) is for winning by checkmate - not for timeouts or resignations - nor for draws.
On a related note: alerts are only to tell you it's your move.
But I usually am. Why would I have to be notified when I win by checkmate? Or lose that way?
What form does this notification take?
So that you can send a trophy perhaps?

As a premium member you lack the advantages of being a free member.
We always get notified at game's end by humongous but delightfully marvelous pop-up ads, that include the game result.
