Cheaters Website--

It's clear that there was a boost in the number of cheaters in chess com (official statistics show it). This is promoting a self selecting dynamics, in which cheaters bring more cheaters, since it is constantly frustrating to play against a cheater and have the website almost never (or at least take a very long time) do something. Thus, people cheat, since they assume others are cheating.... Any solution?

[Edit - Cheating is NOT allowed to be discussed in the Main forum. _GC]

What’s a smurf account?

If someone wants to get easy games, way below their level, an option is to register again and claim you are a beginner. Then with this so called smurf account you start demolishing actual beginners. This is kind of present in most online competitive games.

I don't encounter that many cheaters in my games. Perhaps I encountered 10 in the last year since I am playing on the site. So, I don't agree with your assessment. By the way, your account is 1 day old so I am not sure where your experience comes from. happy.png

Oh and this topic will surely be closed as you've mentioned competitor websites and discussion about cheating can't be done in a public forum as well.

I guess you are the legion of chess com misinformation spreaders?

I don’t even need any uno reverse for showing who’s the misinformation spreaders...title conveys everythin’...and for the records honey, you are not allowed to say that L word(competitor site name) on chess.com.

Its not confined to chess.com, it's a global internet thing. With the vast majority of on-line users using anonymous pseudonym accounts what do you expect, accountability to their peers?

Cheating in chess isn't exclusive to chess.com either, it happens everywhere. For example, when a reigning world chess champion blatantly cheats playing against a schoolgirl in real life over the board chess, while being filmed and watched by 1,000s of pairs eyes you can't expect fair play to be the norm on  the internet.
