Brother you should thank me for this

Never. You locked my forum which I don't want it to be.

And try to fix your mistake.

There's no moderator symbol by Zun's name.
Means he couldn't lock any public forum at all.

Did you read anything? If you mess up a thread, spamming or wtv, can get it locked

I repeat. Regular members can't lock a forum.
Read carlsen's post in the quote. How its worded.
I think you get that though.
And just going to a moderator doesn't necessarily get a forum locked.
I think you know that too.
carlsen's aware of both of those? Probably.
Regarding 'having time' to block whoever ...
the moderators might just choose to remove some posts or mute somebody.
But - another idea - open posters can communicate with the staff directly.
In other words - appeal to them in private.

Zunayed didn't lock it himself but he got it locked by spamming. That was his intent, spamming until it got locked.

I added to my last post.
And repeating now: opening posters can appeal to staff directly.
More than one way to do it.
In other words - privately. Quietly.
Its an option.

And now another point -
if you see somebody spamming as you say Zun did
you can report them yourself. Anybody can.
More than one way to do that too.
Including at least two special buttons for that.

It makes the most sense to me not to lock threads, and to just mute members for spamming, or breaking the TOS. I believe the global warming thread got locked because of a select few people discussing religion and politics.

I agree, however, reporting isn't always affective. The day before this incident, Zunayed, was reported for creating about 4 and a half pages of spam posts in one thread. Nothing was done about it and he was allowed to continue. Resulting in the ops thread getting locked.

Some threads do need to be locked when the intended topic crosses the line.

Topic owners do have a responsibility to police their own topics and keep them on track. That includes giving people warnings about unacceptable content and, if necessary, blocking posters that refuse to abide by the site TOS and the OPs standards for their own topic.

Moderators also need to understand that, like moderators, topic owners are not logged in 12/7. Some things will fall through the cracks during that 16 hour period of life when people need to sleep and go to work and or school.

So yes, mods do need to take care of the few individual trouble makers in a particular thread instead of locking it. At the very least they could issue their own warnings to the individuals they encounter that are violating TOS.

Tbh, most threads that got locked are locked for a reason
One of mine (it was a dare, and I ain’t gonna say which one) was locked within a week

How old are you? I only ask because at one time you said you were in your forth year of college. That would mean you are 21-22 years old. If that's true, then why do you continue to act like a disrespectful child?

Or maybe you were just lying about being a college student and you really are a disrespectful child?

B Com Hons under Gauhati University is not a 4-year course. So I never said that I am in 4th year. I am in 3rd yr rn

That doesn't answer my questions.
