no actually lichess is better for people new to chess, cause you don't need to pay 70 pounds a year to do more than ONE puzzle a day. Even though chess.com has a bigger name, lichess is willing to teach you MANY lessons for free.

the problem in lichess is that every opponent is a good player so beginners are going to have a hard time

Clearly they are both very good sites, and each has great features. The two great advantages that lichess has are that it's free, and its studies. I haven't quite figured out my way around the studies yet, but looking at other people's makes me believe they are a great asset.
On lichess, when you have the computer analyze the game, there's a "Learn from Your Mistakes" feature where you try to make a better move than you did, and the computer tells you if you've got it right or wrong.
Clearly, there's too much to go into on both sites in this small post, but here's my suggestion: Belong to both.
