Oh so you believe some intelligent all-powerful being created the big bang? oh ok

From an intelligent being who created the world, to say it is random chance is meaningless because spontaneous generation has been REFUTED. For some reason scientists still believe in it, though it was disproven in the nineteenth century.

oh well, if it's been refuted, never mind.

I guess all questions have already been answered, but only people with access to magic secrets know everything

The other possibility is that the universe existed for eternity and will be for eternity, but it looks like evidence is going toward the Big Bang. I am not sure, I have a natural inclination of a finite universe bound by time, but who knows?

Don’t see the point here, but I can say a French scientist refuted spontaneous generation. Because the refutation has been out only 150 years, there are still scientists believing in it. But without proof.

jaredjm

Well, the universe is obviously not infinite or eternal

a french scientist refuted the spontaneous generation of complex life.  (fly under glass experiment)

not the spontaneous generation of universes.

no one can seem to fit a universe in a lab to test it.

HolographWars

How was life created at first? You cant just throw a bunch of chemicals into a pot and get a living organism.

eryxc

True

eryxc

But that’s why I created this forum lol

eryxc

Lol I meant how was it created

That's why it makes more sense to have an intelligent Creator being

So........ You're going to argue that you CAN make life from non life?

eryxc

Both creation/evolution technically have that thought through different means

eryxc

Because the creator of the world through the Bible created life through his word and not a living thing.

And the ‘Big Bang’ theory ‘bangs’ everything into existence, from nothing into something!

If a god put certain chemicals in certain amounts into certain places... Couldn’t have just been at the beginning, bam, suddenly out of nothingness...

thegreatauk

Well define "nothing" that is absolutely nothing if there is a "higher being" How were they created? Through a big band of their own?

MustangMate

The OP begins with - ""Whatever begins to exist has a cause, The universe began to exist therefore the universe has a cause"

An assumption. A fatal error. Serious discussion can not take place when it is assumed there exists but a single explanation.

Existence need not have a "beginning," therefor no cause exists. The idea that it must be so, a beginning and and end, fits nicely into a box. Problem is ... reality never does.

HolographWars

Just finished listening to Close to the Edge without stopping in bed, what an experience.

LhcAndrewB

Why would you say that is a fatal error?

I have a large post to add to this, but I can't put it up right now. I will add it in the morning! happy.png
