Sorry Hudson tongue.png, and Jesusiscoming I know you really want to convince people, and I love your heart, it’s in the right place

Thanks...I just wish I could be a better servant

that's the real problem isn't it?  not god, but his lacklustre servants.

god only gave his sheep a few simple tasks.  Spread the "good news" kill all Amalekites on sight in an eternal war, etc. etc.

and just a few hundred years ago his sheep controlled basically every institution in the developed world.  Every army, every government, every school.

NOW, christian churches are dropping like flies.  Getting turned into condos, and micro-breweries. Parishes are going bankrupt left right and centre, because of lack of interest, and child molestation law suits.  Christianity is circling the bowl while islam is rising to prominence.

that's on you christians.

you let all this happen on your watch.  You should have committed to your beliefs, worked for the lord, and not for your own gratification.  The bible tells us everything we need to know about the accumulation of wealth, but you did not listen, and now you are reaping what you did sew.  christianity has gone from the most powerful religion in the history of the world to a laughing stock, and a safe haven for child molesters.

but then I ask a question.  If god is never wrong, and his church is failing because his flock is incompetent, is it all part of the plan?

the only reason god would choose a bunch of losers to run his church, is because he wants it to fail.

So, IMO, neither is it in the Bible that babies go to heaven or not. I believe they do. I do not have a verse. Therefore, neither of us can use this point to argue.

Here's it.

Matthew 19:14 New International Version (NIV)

14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Also, how do you believe that something as delicate and amazing as a human could be created by evolution?

Because we can track genetic changes on the gene pool and fossiles?

Because we know how evolution works. creatures have random mutations in their DNA, the ones that positively affect the creatures chances of the reproduction will be passed on and will eventually dominate the gene pool. Over millions of years (that's a lot of mutations). eventually, create the animal kingdom we have today.

But that would take much longer to create a human, there are no links between apes and humans, and why aren't we changing anymore?

Factually incorrect.

What percentage of people actually go to heaven? Why should thinkers get the same punishment as murderers.

Define thinkers.

People who have done nothing wrong except have the thought in their head that god does not exist.

We are naturally sinners from birth.  Have you even done something bad in your life? I HIGHLY bet you have. We all have! You cannot be saved until you recieve Christ in your heart.

I have not done anything that warrants being burnt for eternity.

You believe babies are sent to hell for the crime of being born.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that the Bible says that people under the age of twelve will automatically be taken to heaven if they die, whether or not they believe. Something about thirteen being an adult, I guess.

Well you or your colleagues should know, shouldn't you, can I have the exact biblical reference for that please, then I might believe it.

Is it in the appendix by any chance

I’m glad you asked. There is no specific Bible verse about this specific event. However, Jesus does say that the kingdom of heaven belongs to children. He also says that all the children should come to him. I can get you those actual verses, if you’d like. If that’s not enough evidence of children being allowed into Heaven, I’m not quite sure what is.

I personally hate these text conversations because I have so many words and it takes so long to write them, especially on the go, as I am now. The church should be made up of Christians. What we see today is he rise of the nominal Christian, who knows the basics and doesn’t bother to learn more. That’s why it’s falling apart. That being said, at the time when the Roman Catholic Church (I’m a Conservative Baptist BTW) rules the world, it was what I consider a low point for Christianity. A time when we cared more about money and power then our beliefs.

god made us in his own image.

so god is apparently 99.98% genetically identical to chimps.

just like the rest of us.

According to the Bible, “All have sinned,”. All. ALL. I once heard a very good analogy for sin that goes like this:

To us humans, we see sins like we see cars on the ground. Every car is a car, but there are noticeable differences between them. If you got a person who was an expert on cars to look at one, he could go on and on about the specifics of the car until you ran out of patience.

God, On the other hand, sees sin the way we might see cars from a plane. From that high up and from such a distance away, all the cars look virtually identical. For all intents and purposes, they ARE the same.

So, according to the Christian God of the Bible, those murderers and rapists aren’t really all that different to God as the people who lied to their parents once when they were eight. EVERYONE has sinned. EVERYONE needs saving. We’re all the same.

Are these answers to your satisfaction?

Not at all, no.

If I accept that analogy, then it clearly means that this God is short sighted in both senses of the words.

That is ,he cant actually see very well, which is a very strange thing for an all powerful being !

Secondly his thinking is very short term and inadequate if he makes decisions on the basis the analogy describes.

I'm sorry but this god really does not sound very bright at all, rather stupid in fact.

Still, I guess he never claimed to be that bright..well did he ?

If there is a biblical verse to prove he did, please post it, and I will admit a mistake.

But you will not, because I studied it all at school, and there is no such verse.

So, you want to worship a rather unintelligent being ?...be my guest lol

Your logic here is like saying, “Oh, I only starved my kid for three days instead of five, so I’m a better person than you.” Yes, by the most literal definition, you are, but that still doesn’t mean that you’re not a monster.

God takes a clearer, better view of things than we as humans do. That’s what gives Him the authority to judge.

so, we aren't made in god's image?

because we are 99.98% identical to chimps

Hahahahahaha, so funny regimental. Did you ever research how genetically identical we are to other things? No? Take a peek. Besides, what do you mean by image? I don’t think of an image as a DNA similarity level but I guess everyone is different

If that’s not God claiming to be intelligent, I’m not sure what is.

the nice thing about science is, its testable.

any one, even you, can study genetics.  every study ever published will be made available to you and you can youse observational evidence and the experimental method to either confirm or deny them.

sitting in church and just unequivocally denying things you don't like the sound of is one of the reasons christianity is failing

Just because apes/chimps look slightly similar to humans DOES NOT mean that they are us. PROVE it.
