And after that sickness the government thought it would be appropriate to throw my pastor in jail for keeping his church open. Me and the entire church have been ignoring the restrictions since and guess what? Not one Death in the entire 600 member church.

I notice you didn't say how many got Covid, or how many *other* people got Covid from your congregation.

It's not surprising that a skeptical mask wearer can get Covid, if they are going to gatherings of 600.

I stopped wearing a mask there too LOL.

We had 1 hospitalization. And 2-3 families got sick. But that was their choice wasn’t it? And nobody died. And we’ve had full church (some of our services had to be held outside because they locked up our building) since January

Dang. You’re crazy. I’d also like to point out that I said they locked up our pastor and our building. But in doing so they were hindering our right to worship under the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms. So they were breaking the charter which is illegal and when we tried to press charges they dropped the whole thing.

TheSheeshKid

Because they’re a load of idiots and they knew they were wrong

I'm not aware of any Gods that require people to congregate in the hundreds as a minimum to worship them.

Rest assured, I am not the one coming off as crazy in this exchange happy.png.

It doesn’t matter if the church has 10 100 or a million members. God requires us to gather and worship him. And if someone is stopping you they’re making you go against what God tells you to do.

TheSheeshKid

Church members are family. The bible also tells us to fellowship with one another. That was also hindered.

TheSheeshKid

And we’re not idiots. If we’re sick we stay home. Our goal in life isn’t to murder half the population

Very true. Was just reading something, some people have gone too far in their zeal: https://www.thestar.com/politics/2021/07/12/judge-overseeing-church-challenge-of-covid-19-restrictions-says-he-was-followed.html

Religion in topic reminder:

Be careful about the religious references.  Indirect/general statements about gatherings at churches during Covid is fine, just don't go after any any particular denomination/sect or attack religion (or atheism for that matter) as a concept directly.

I think all the posts thus far are fine...just want to say this since it's getting closer to the line than usual.

While other churches shut down, ours stayed open.  masks were optional, and we started a second service for those that wanted to wear masks.  The 2 places that i went to on a regular basis never had a single case of covid.  Church and the gym.  But the gym was forced to shut down anyway.

The building is just that, a building.  The people are the church.

IMKeto

Things like this divide us into thirds.

Some of us shut down and live in fear.  I know people that did this.

Some of us feel its a hoax/govt. conspiracy.  I know these types too.  The ones that think the govt wants to "chip you" with the vaccine.  But they carry a cell phone with them everywhere?

Some like me feel its real, but there has always been something about it that never seemed right, normal, or made sense.  I just got my first pfizer shot 2 weeks ago.  The people i know that couldn't believe i waited are now happy with me.  The people that were happy i didn't get the vaccine are now not happy with me.   What i decided to do was research this.  Study this.  Use critical thinking.   Come up with my own decisions.  I ignored the media, which do nothing but fear monger.  I listened to other opinions, but never took them for anything more than they were...an opinion.

For me the right choice was the pfizer vaccine.

DiogenesDue

My renter finally got vaccinated this week...only when his employer said if he didn't show proof of vaccination he'd have to continue masking up everyday while everyone vaccinated went maskless.

So...personal annoyance at wearing masks while others don't have to > health of self and others.

Hard to fathom that kind of decision making.
