There is no harm if one person says it once.  If 10-15 people each keep saying it, it floods the chat and annoys everyone who is trying to have a reasonable discussion.

Chess.com is a great opportunity to learn and play chess.  But, someone needs to moderate the moderators.  The last time I posted I was muted.  It was during one of the armature hour programs with Danny R.  During the program the question was asked what is the FEN acronym.  Danny did not remember what the F and the E stood for and asked for people to respond in the chat.  I remembered that the F and E are the last name initials of the two people that developed the notation.  But, I could not remember the names.  So, I goggled FEN and found the names.  I looked at the chat and did not see the answer.  So, I typed in the answer Forsyth-Edwards Notation.  Apparently the answers had already been posted and scrolled off the page.  I got muted for repeating the answer.  This sort of ticked me off.  I rarely post and it was the only post I did for the entire program up to that point.  In fact, I usually do not even pay attention to the chat and watch at full screen.  So, now, never mind, I will just go back into not posting.  For those who are aggravated by the chat, there is a simple solution.  Watch at full screen and ignore the chat.

I'm sad.  I tried to join the RAR group, but they rejected me.

I had dank memes and everything.

Guess I'll get back to the cool chess stuff here.

Appreciate the community here.  Sometimes even chess.com needs a punk rock RAR to surface now and again.  It is an acquired taste, and one that is often and easily overdone.

Sorry, but RAR doesn't accept new members in chess.com. Many of them spam the group, so you've got to have an account for a few months before we'll consider you.

@jasmine_jumper, complaints about moderators should be directed to @jdcannon.  He's in charge of the mod team.

If one person posts a RAR comment in the chat every 30 seconds, nobody's going to care.  If ten people post RAR comments in the chat every ten seconds, they will dominate the chat and drive everyone else away, and if they keep it up when asked to stop, they shouldn't be surprised if they start to get muted.

RAR is harmless fun if kept under control, but if it gets out of control it counts as spam.

Also, there's actually some people who care about paying attention to the game being played and not whether a certain word that I will not name is cool or stupid.

Yeah, kind of weird, isn't it?  It's not like this is a chess site, after all.

What you think of isn't what it is.

Stop telling us what RAR looks like, you aren't even funny. You haven't been in the RAR group either!

There's a computer program called "WinRAR". Its used to condense large files.
