I actually started watching the new Charlie Brown movie. Even though I'm a big fan of Charlie Brown's Christmas still, as an adult, this new film is more for kids. Charlie Brown Christmas is an anomaly. It's tone, music, and mood is very unique still and probably can't be duplicated, for me anyway:)
Well, I knew nothing about these characters before. I liked Peppermint Patty (I had to google it, she's Pecas Patty here), she reminded me of my wife. I'll try to watch that Christmas one if available.
You should probably know that I'm a huge fan of movies taking time. I'm not into the fast editing, things going on all-the-time, kind of film. I loved the pacing of the movie, how it let you just think. My entire criticism began at the end of it. It was after it was over that it really started to irritate me. I was awaiting another layer--in fact many more layers. But it didn't happen. I felt like my thinking was wasted on these people. I felt like I watched people I can't stand--fake people. People I loathe being around. Superficial, immature, fake. It's like watching an existential drama that was really Christian fantasy. Like I'm watching Charlotte's face and thinking, 'is my trust in him turning into a deeper betrayal?', 'what happened on that mountain that he hasn't told me?', 'is my life about to turn upside down?'. No, nothing of the sort was going through her mind. She was just some superficial person that made a son out of her husband. And he was weak enough to allow it because that's what kind of people they are. Do you know what I mean?
That could be. How's this, see it. I'd like your opinion on it. I'm not going to say don't see a film that I don't like. I want everyone to see the films we review here just so I can read other perspectives on them. I'm not looking to warn you from spending money or time on a film. It's like painting. I know what I like and I assume you know what you like too. So lets see where we're similar and where we differ in our likes;)
Oh, and I just don't trust the critics. I never know what is compelling them to write such glowing reviews for films that I find ridiculous or bad reviews for films I find to be wonderful? There could very well be money involved in these reviews, or other things.
I could recommend some Hindi films if anyone is interested. I am a huge fan of art films, so called parallel cinema. Many of them are classics and its a largely unexplored genre for many western minds. Also some Chinese films that are well worth watching.
Probably is about the happening of a fact out of her control. Too much after so many years, as Whip said. She should have some mental issues I think.
