How To - Video Link Posting Directions:

On a YouTube video use their Share button, select the Embed button, then Copy button for their Embed Video code or select the Share link (URL address) if shown.

Then select the Media Play button here (Chess.com's posting window), shown in the box below (circled in red), and paste the Embed Video code or Share link into the Embed box. It will either visibly load the video or a "Video unavailable Watch on YouTube" notice into the load window (both work), hit Post and it works.

If you're on the app, you won't see it. (Wolfbird thanks for your help with these directions.)

Chess.com will only allow you to post 5 comments in a row, then you will get their red banner that you are violating posting policy. You will then have to wait for someone else to post a comment or give you a "bump" (bring up my post), before you can comment again.

Dylan's first electric performance where they said he sold out the unplugged before it was unplugged.

Edit: Dylan's still alive and kicking. Non electric music is almost dead though.

Tough competition above forced me to resort to the old Fusion Days of the late 70's, a little updated. Arc Attack is from, where else, Austin! They came to one of our parties when they were getting started. It's all pre-programmed, but the arcs themselves are tuned to each note. They assign a waveform and the sound you hear is the arc.

Here's Al last February. He hasn't lost his fire a bit. Saw him in the, when else, late 70s.

pcwildman

And of course we can't leave out Juan Carlos Zee Rock. They pull up in the van and two minutes later you have this. It's Russian Mexican American culture all over again.

#18 @pcwildman "Live in Modena" I enjoyed that! The middle & right guitarists are playing exclusively with picks, guitarist on the left playing finger style. Interesting that none of them played in a classical guitar position considering the speed they're playing at, maybe more flamenco/jazz style artists (not familiar with them)? I really like this post and had never seen that performance.

pcwildman

The music threads really have me digging into details. For years I've listened and played and there's no way to keep up with all the incredible music out there. It looked like Paco was using three fingers, but only two looked like they were moving. I'm wondering if he was using his pinky, which you couldn't see. I need to start a Fusion thread just for McLaughlin, I shook his hand at the elevator in the hotel, Stanley Clarke, he'd already gone up to his room, Weather Report, Chick Corea, Ronnie Laws and all the Jazz Rock Fusion bands of the late seventies. Herbie Hancock, ???

Thanks for another great thread.

Eldred_Woodcock

Django Reinhardt's ring and little finger of his left hand were crippled from being badly burned. He did all his fret work with thumb and two fingers, and still became master of his instrument.

The idea of harp music intrigued me. I usually avoid harp music because what youtube calls "relaxing" seems mind-numbing to me. Anyway, I found this, which is worth a listen, I suppose.

Eldred_Woodcock

That led me to this one. Is mouth harp allowed? I have to put this here because this guy really deserves a listen.

pcwildman

We should do an entire Django thread. There's a "Jazz" post only he says he doesn't like Jazz, so I think it behooves, and bepaws, us all to stuff it full of great Jazz- Charlie Parker, Diz, Coltrane....
