I'm Vietnamese-American. 10 years in Vietnam, 40 years in America. I still practice my native language. It is still good enough.
I got a 4 hours job through my temp agency for a translator on the parent-teacher conference day. I worked 2 hours but got paid 4. That was great.
It was great to go back to school again to see what has changed.
The home room class was a geometry class. I looked at a Common Core geometry book. (You can find it online). I was surprised at what I saw. It wasn't geometry. It had a whole bunch of Analytical Geometry.
That's not how I learned Geometry. I learned it the old fashioned way, by Euclidean proofs. Geometry is an art that has to be passed on by the oral tradition (as all arts are). In this new Common Core Geometry book, there was not a proof of the Pythagorean Theorem.
This mechanization of teaching an art (mathematics is an art, just like any other art) is horrible. It is ridiculous. "Back the days, kids . . . " We learned Geometry and Analytical Geometry as two separate classes in two separate years.
And the geometry teacher had never heard of Donald Duck in Mathemagic Land.
We saw it on film strip back in the days.

I took 2 years of Latin. It later helped my learn French and Spanish in real life.
Even though I like math, and am very good at it later in life, Art was my most favorite class.
In Art, you can't just copy a picture, you have to draw an original picture.
Every self portrait is different. That's why art was my most favorite class.
You're too late.
Double negative: "We don't need no education"
They are asking for quality education there.
Also, without schools you get uneducated people, pawns of the handlers who'll treat them like monkeys.
Yes and no. There are no such things as "uneducated" people. People are always being "educated", it's a question of who is doing the "educating" and for what purpose.
they give you academic intelligence instead of life intelligence
Here's life intelligence for you.
that's true... im in 4th. i feel quite bored in online class. like physical class(going to school, present in school class)
