How do you know “the moderators didn’t do anything about it”? There’s a scale of warnings and/or mutes, neither of which would be particularly visible to other members. You’d only be able to tell if their account actually gets closed for abuse, which is pretty drastic with a corresponding level of proof / severity, and I think nowadays that can only be done by staff, not the mods

I have a chess playing friend that is basque. I call him Frenchie al the time. he does not have a problem with it.

Some people get offended, other don't. If you call me Frenchie or French boi or Parisguy or something like that i won't really be upset, but i think the way that some people say it is kinda oppressing

Personally being form Canada, we learn French and French is the official language (and English). I have great respect for French/French-Canadians. They are very common in these parts.
