Why are people that young so obsessed with this stuff??

"Peer pressure". That's the only answer I can think of so far. ppl would rather copy others than think it through themselves these days. I'm honestly disappointed in my generation.

Someone mentioned me joining the air force?? No way I would pass the physical training. My mile running time is almost 12 minutes, some days I need 9-10 hours of sleep, and I am not that good with computers. Another thing is I absolutely hate going upside down. I refuse to even go on rollercoasters that do that.

I've considered flight school. At my high school, Aerospace engineering was one of the "majors" (I went to Brooklyn Tech and the last 2 years you had to pick a field that you would have to take 2 or 3 extra courses in each year). And they had one of those triple-wide screen flight simulators, Microsoft X-Plane 10 or something, I actually landed it successfully. Flying is a similar appeal to driving jobs for me, but much harder, and my vision isn't perfect so..

Helping design and build the plane and engine is much more enjoyable in my personal opinion because you then partly know how to build such a thing and actually understand what is going on behind the curtains instead of just using it as a tool, which also helps in engine failures and such as you know what could be failing and may be able to figure out a way to temporarily fix the issue saving lives. Then of course after this using the product may be more enjoyable.

One of the majors at Brooklyn Tech was Aerospace Engineering. In 11th grade you would take AP Physics 1, and Astronomy/Astrophysics, and and intro to engineering course. In 12th grade, you would take FAA Flight school course, "computer integrated manufacturing", and an actual Aerospace engineering course. I didn't choose this major, I chose Physics, but just so happen to remember the courses for this one as it was my 2nd choice. All of the courses in the "majors" were in addition to normal high school requorements.
