alcohol and chess don't mix! when will you guys learn?
Artfizz! Say it ain't so!!!!! Chess, Scotch & Cigars are ideal together! Surely you jest!!! I can only assume you are attempting to agitate those of us in pursuit of ultimate perfection.... Although I unfortunately cannot confirm that I have mastered the recipe, nor have I yet indulged in the totality of such an overall sublime experience, I will share with you the following ingredients that I am convinced will get me as close to heaven as one could wish to get........
It starts with a fine scotch of which there are so many to choose from, but the easily obtainable Glenlivet 21 yr old, or a velvety smooth Glenrothes 15 yr old will work just nicely. Next grab an exquisite Cuban cigar such as a Punch double corona (ring gauge 49 length 7 5/8) or an exotic Montecristo petit edmundo (ring gauge 52, length 4 1/3) both of which are delectable choices. The last element which will likely be the most elusive of all for most of us (and especially me!) is the chess match vs an IGM in which a victory is obtained........ That would be ecstasy pleasuring all of ones senses indeed! Sigh-h-h-h.......... Only in my dreams perhaps, but what a lovely dream indeed......
I work in a scotch bar in Ottawa. Highland Park 18 is the only way to go unless you want to spend a fortune.

I have question to all whiskey and bourbon drinkers. What is the different between them, are they made it differently or what ?
Bourbon can only be made in kentucky, it does not differ fundamentally fom rye etc.
Alcohol and chess does mix..... especially when you and a mate are playing 1 minute OTB bullet! lots of laughs. lol lol
Actually, Back to the Yaege..... Jager bombs. My local has got around the problem of not seeing shotglasses in glasses..... they have flouro plastic shotglasses! :D

OK kco..... expanding on my fantasy...... I can dig it...... perfection taken to new heights..... (or lows perhaps to some) But it does beg some questions if you intend to modify my recipe....... It is an OTB match, right? Is she of legal age? Sexy clothing? For that matter, clothing at all? Oh, and another very important question. Is she indulging in a cigar?
KCO...... You may merely be an agitater like my friend Artfizz. Perhaps just wanting to get a rise from me...... I also fear you may be straying a bit from the forum topic, although our bartender friend will likely insist that it goes together in his experience. So at the risk of censure I am posting my reply....... I suppose we can only hope that this new modification to my recipe which you have concocted will also include an .... uh......err.... "happy ending"?
wwoooo....this is a off topic, how can one stray from a off topic?, anyway you got yourself a nice "Happy Ending " there.
The last time I asked via the forums for help in beating (up) kco, I got quite a few volunteers. Can anyone imagine how many offers I would get if I sought assistance regarding zombywoof ?
After a brief analysis, it appears to me that zombywoof - far from straying - deliberately set off on a false trail! http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/chess-jokes-anyone?page=4
Getting back on track: The chocolate bourbon cream is the single most perfect object known to man ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A244946
dsach bourbon does not have to come from kentucky... Kentucky Straight Bourbon has to. And you have many bourbons that do not contain Rye at all (Makers Mark off the top of my head... I know there are a few others) Apart from that Rye and Bourbon if made identically would still be atleast a 2% difference in their respective mash bills.
Also I'm not sure as to the use of sour mash in other distilling processess but I do know that it has to be used in bourbons.
My comment about putting shit in to glasses was refering to putting something like a shot glass. Which for the record is unsafe on a number of levels. And its rarely staff that cause the problem with Jager Bombs (although it does happen on occasion) its more customers "forgetting" there is a rather sturdy glass object inside that glass they are holding that they carelessly wave around.
As to your comment about the same could be said about other drinks (namely RTDs (was what I got the impression you were implying) ) for starters it applies more to jagermeister as its herbal/medicinal taste has been described as cough syrup the world over. Furthermore, RTD are some of the most vile substances you could ever put in your body.
Most RTD (ready to drinks) products would appear to contain branded alcohol but in actuality are made from waste from the dairy industry. This alcohol is understandbly not of very high quality so it needs to be pumped full of fake flavours and sugar to make it drinkable. Put it in a pretty bottle and sell it to teenagers.
When I was refering to the uneducated masses I was refering more to knowledge about what they were drinking more than anything else. As a lowly bar manager I would not overstep my mark as to presume the level of education of anyone in my bar.
Obviously this is all just private disdain for the drink and does not come up while I'm working at all, after all its an immensly successful marketing gimic and it has people drinking in teams. So hurray for that. Its just a shame that it has to be a bomb. :P
Not to worry KCO I will have your back if they try to take you on and beat you up....especially after a few drinks!!!!!!!!
I become invincible!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems so trite........ give you guys a few drinks, and all you want to do is fight someone! Makes for a good movie though, ever seen "Barfly"? Sean Penn/Faye Dunaway......based on an author named Charles Buckowski
But hey...... What the hell, hate being left out of the fun! I am willing to be a participant. I drink Makers Mark or Wild Turkey instead of scotch when I plan to engage in such extracurricular activities. I think it makes me feel less sophisticated and I can channel my dormant redneck tendencies......a little Hank Jr. or AC/DC on the old fashioned juke box and the ideal setting is created! I am getting so excited I'm swinging my pool cue as I write! Yeee-Haw

you will need assistance now my friend! Hank Jr. on the juke box, wild turkey in hand (and consumed) ....... I am ready to take on the whole bar!!!! To quote the Mozart of rock n roll, the illustrious Frank Zappa....... "don't mess with the Zombywoof, just about as evil as you could be!"

The long Island Iced tea is good and here is a coincindence for you
When I was at the airport waiting for for Sweetie's flight I went to the bar to have a beer and right away the bartender sked me what I wanted and I replied "something with alcohol...lol" he then said "Long Island Iced tea?"
I immediately thought...wow...I just sent KCO the recipe for that drink
I had only 2 beers though as I was looking for something light on the alcohol at that time....I had to drive home....I do not condone drinking and driving...I had 3 more hours to wait and rightly figured 2 beers would be okay
