Views and followers I understand, but I don't know about notes. I am pretty sure they could have easily kept them, so that means there's a reason they removed notes.

Views and followers don't really matter long-term.

why?

Probably to save money on customer service. Why allow public notes that have to be policed/moderated when PMs already exist and need less moderation (on average)? It's always been extraneous. Chess.com is not for social media. Why give people posting walls? This is a feature for other kinds of sites...ones that perhaps some users cannot access at various times due to parental controls or school firewalls, etc. Thus the level of outcry that the chess.com backdoor is closing (these aspects of it, anyway).

Because followers and views aren’t necessary on a chess site. I’m glad they’re changing the layout to focus on actual chess players instead of making it more social media based. Though notes can easily be replaced by DMs or live chats.

Notes help more with focusing yourself. All followers and views do is inflate ego and make yourself feel better; long term, I think this is a good change, although I would like to have notes back so I don't have to write my goals on a Google doc or sheet of paper

I just talk to friends in notes

plus u have views still in stats

Club notes and DMs and whatnot are better than profile notes

Profile notes are more easily accessible and personalized if you are using them for their intended purpose, rather than talking.
