oh my gosh. @blackfirestorm thank you, but I didnt want you to spill out money for some measly 12 yr old kid. Is there any way you can 'remove' the membership, and take it back. Im really happy, but I dont think i deserve it

I have my own kids so I know what it’s like not having the money. You can’t decline it nor can I remove it. It’s a 1-off so make the most of it.

Oh snap! (if only the bunny had opposable thumbs)

Yeah, spend it on the measly bunny instead. The bunny agrees to take down this thread of his. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/vagrancy

I know. Chess.com is overall a pretty good site. THANKS YOU SO MUCH @BLACKFIRESTORM you are so nice XD thanks

Being 12 is awesome! I am 12. And still, I think we should tell chess.com about what we think

AlCzervik

bfs, i never knew you were so nice!

though, i did notice you rejected bunny's request for a rolls, so, i guess i will wait to ask for that new set of clubs.

as far as the op, i tend to agree that "free" members should have the ability to start groups and be sa. i see far more freeloaders than paying members, which leads me to believe ad revenue far exceeds income from memberships. of course, this is only an opinion based on what i see.

the levels of paid memberships also involve a lot more chess stuff for serious players, and i would tend to think those features are more alluring for members to pay.

MuhammadTalented

Logically I think it's not easy for non-members to be SA because paid membership give right to more merits but I hope non-members to be able to make clubs and be SA in the future.

Boring af

AlCzervik

yet, you were compelled to post....

blackfirestorm

I remember when free membership you couldn’t create clubs but at least you could be promoted to super admin and stay there.

Yea since chess.com went from v2 to v3 they have been trying to force people to pay at the high levels.

The ability to be an SA or create clubs was the same in v2 as it is now.

I'd gift UM a month right now - if I trusted chess.com with the credit card info.

Gift memberships do not renew.

Trust doesn't always renew either.  happy.png
Or not completely.

Anyway - by reminding people who want to be SA's or club founders ...
that only a one-month membership is required - when that happens
might actually work out financially better for chess.com.  For multiple reasons.
Whether its gift or not.

What is they gifted to active members

How does that even work ...??  Are you saying the color of your skin should determine whether you can make a club.. it appears you are saying that a white skinned person should be a premium member to be able to make a club but a darker skinned person should not.

Being racist is discriminating against a person due to their race. That is making different rules for people based on the pigmentation in their skin, the region they originate from or similar.

To become a premium member all you need to do is pay for it... There are no questions on race to answer in order to get this type of membership.

Meower

exactly. thats why i was like '?'
