Petition to not ban anybody from forums

I've seen some good arguments for banning people below 500 rating, but I also think free speech is an important right and chess.com shouldn't ban anybody from forums.

GodOfFleas

At the very least don't give the power to silence someone to the topic creator.

Yes Exactly what I've been looking for, I can't believe they call this chomper dude a troll for speaking facts!

My games are hanging in the beginning, especially in blitz games, I can make my moves only after 10s have passed by

I agree chess.com should not ban people from forums or in any way because of their ratings. And fortunately and sensibly - they don't.
But people making a forum should not be at the mercy of whoever nor should their forums and therefore opening posters should keep their blocking options (they do) and also should not be harassed by those wanting to take away those options plus the moderators can and do mute or ban where needed.

I agree with you!

They do ban though. Because they have to.
Free speech isn't an absolute.

Chomper, finally you're speaking facts. This is one opinion of yours I can get behind!

MariasWhiteKnight

Why, yes !

Not unless they actually violate the rules.

Certainly not because of their rating etc.

Chompy Guy, the great freedom fighter is fighting for the free speech of dubai spambots.

I agree that freedom of speech should be allowed on the forums. However I think the topic creator should have an option to set a minimum rating for people chatting on their forum posts, because it belongs to them and blocking everyone might take too long. Like if you are talking about something about chess, you might want to set a minimum rating of 500 if it's complicated
