All The Reasons We Hate V3!

This is one of those times where they balance members that do a lot and members that just want to play chess. I just went back to V2 to check and really board sizes seem the same. I have asked in the past about making all windows adjustable in size but was turned down on that one ??

I'm pretty sure the boards can be resized - at one stage it could only resized with the window that the board was in (urgh!) but it definitely changed somewhere along the way - I think it's in settings?

   Riker, I'm in V2. When I look at friends, it says you we're last here 24 mins ago.    But yet you just posted 11 mins ago.

Looking in a friend's friend list, it says I was last online 9 hours ago, but here I am.

I just realized I completely missed the context of what I responded to and so my comment is totally irrelevant.

Yeah Ronny I went back to V2 to check a couple things and then back to V3.  V2 I'm auto signed in but I have to log in everytime in V3. I'm sure that was done for a reason. I have been online for the last 16 hrs

There is a ongoing issue with 2 versions of the site running at the same time and depending on which version your using. That's why things will start working better when V2 finally leaves. It has caused message issues and club news issues with both running.

Don't get me started on a Windoze rant..

Now the tactics trainer is getting horrible too. It was a great improvement in V3, but now when the tactic is finished, instead of just showing your new rating and how much you lost/won, the number goes up like rolling, or something. I don't know how to explain that even in Spanish lol. For example if you are in 2100 and won 6 points to go to 2106, instead of just showing that final number, it goes all the way from 2100 to 2106 showing the numbers in between. I don't know what sense this makes, apart from a waste of time.

I actually like that.

I knew someone would say that. And I respect it, but I think they should give us the choice in "settings" to have it or not. Not just force it.

Settings options would be a better choice.  It took me a while to just get a decent set-up I liked in v3.  V2 was rather straight-forward with settings.  With V3, setting options are .. everywhere.

   Commander Riker is always saying, "I spoke to Eric, I spoke to Eric".                                           What else did he tell you,  that he's some kind of peace-maker?  He's playing you son,  can't you see that?  WAR IS COMING  Now I'm gonna ask you one more time son,  lower your shields.

Actually I do not talk to him that often. He is far to busy I just try and help members understand V3 and explain things the best I can. Thanks for thinking of me although ??

     Ok, I apologize, Jeezs Jeff,  I can't believe you took that post seriously. It was a joke. The pictures I used was meant as a juxtaposition against your avatar. I have on a few dozen times defended Staff here against many attacks. We've got half a dozen threads, groups, on V3 all portraing Eric as the bad guy. In the movie, Kirk couldn't believe for 1 sec that Admiral Marcus would go against all the beliefs of Star Fleet that Khan was implying. And yet, in the blink of an eye Marcus turned out to be a bad guy. Kirk trusted his instincts and told Sulu to NOT lower the shields. You trust your instincts about working with Eric, as well you should. ( I love that scene BTW. If Admiral Marcus looks familiar, he should. Peter Weller played the original Robocop--1987) Don't be so grumpy in your old age. You might want to look at post 203 in this thread, on page 11. You know me, I'm always screwing around. No offense intended.  Its like when I do my Col Jessup impersonation.                                                                                                                   

Besides the slow typing I experience in v3, the experience in IPad is not too good as of yet.  Those are my 2 issues.  But to be fair, the slow typing is not always present.  I am not experiencing it right now but will keep you posted. 

Currently my biggest gripe with V3 is that I can't tell the subject of messages on my iPhone. I can't quickly tell the difference between match notifications and vote chess notifications.

I think V3 has done away with message subjects altogether in favour of the conversation by sender approach...
