Good idea.
In the meantime, you could some of the available starting positions that give a clear advantage to one side.
Some other handicapping schemes were discussed in another thread.
When playing with my friends of different skill I would like to have an ability to take a piece away before starting a game (on unrated game). The best way would be to allow manually set up board as a starting point to a game (for handicaping, as well as for replaying different situations). Since the manually set up board would be a difficult feature to implement, maybe allow some "preset" handicaps, such as queen's rook (with pawn advanced) and so on.
