Format
The 4th Candidates Tournament was held to determine who would challenge Botvinnik for the World Championship in 1960. The Tournament lasted from September 7 until October 29 and featured play by three future World Champions, the winner Tal who would go on to beat Botvinnik and become the then youngest World Champion, Tigran Petrossian, and a then 16 year old Robert James Discher!
