What have you done for Chess.com lately?

Ok, I admit, this is a selfish post :) I'm just wondering, if you are enjoying Chess.com, have you done anything to help lately? This could include:

- inviting your friends to join chess.com

- adding a widget or badge to your blog or myspace or website

- printing out flyers and passing them out at your local chess club or tournament

- and, of course, signing up for premium membership

I'm working hard for you, and I appreciate everyone who is a part of this community!

Thanks for your support :)

Nothing selfish about this post at all.  Its your baby and you want to know if your customers are happy, what you can do for them, and what they can do for you.

Selfishly Erik in a free loading free member.  But to answer what have i done to help?  I constantly tell the parents of kids i work with about this site.

Aloha Erick you the man!!

What have I done, well invite everyone I play OTB and coach to chess.com as well as those I meet else where - to join chess.com. Run tournaments, team events, various groups, forums inputs when needed. I like the new 960 options have always wanted to play this game and chess.com made so easy to play regular chess, turn-base and 960 as well as vote chess, etc. even recruited some of my old high school team mates and started our alumni group. And of course the first Diamond member here at Chess.com.

So keep up the great work here at chess.com and they will keep coming!

Mahalo!

Yep-per,

I have invited my friends and have gotten nice successful referral trophies in my trophy room.  I'm sorry to say that I don't know how to put on a widget or badge on my homepage.  But when I do learn I will have it there as well.  I haven't printed flyer's, but I have told the clubs by word of mouth on game nights.  I started out with a free membership and got a one year that is due to run out next month and I plan to upgrade to a crown next month.  Your not selfish Erik, you just want us to grow and be the best.   Hope that answers your questions bro :-}  Oh,I almost forgot, I'm testing the live beta 2 chess site for you. I appreciate everything you have done over the past year and what you will be doing over the next. I plan on being with you a longggg time my friend.   Thanks for all your hard work and effort :+]

As a substitute teacher, I write your website on the blackboard everyday (right under "Mr. McIntire").  Cool

erik, I do not do any of the listed items...

But I do report bugs and give new feature suggestion via blogs.

I have also tried to put a banner on my Google profile but it didn't work.

does a shopkeeper go out and ask their customers "what have you done for my shop lately ?", my platinum speak for itself.

I tell people about chess.com all the time! It really is a fantastic website

ilikeflags

of course it's selfish.  i'm not sure that's a bad thing.  as has been said.  it's a big deal for you...  and let's be honest--there's money involved.

i have invited people to pay.  i don't think any have.  i have done nothing else.  i don't have any idea what a widget is.  not really sure i want to know either.

i like chess.com and i think i give back on some level.  i participate on the boards and i host tourneys.  i play a lot, and i complain my fair share.  plus i've had a fight or 2 with Suggo.  that's huge.

I've invited my friends to join Chess.com.

really erik as a shopkeeper should really ask " have we serve you well ?" my answer is yes, but get rid of the very rude customers please.

Given you, Erik, dozens of awesome ideas.

And just the fact that I'm here is an amazing boon for the site.

Also I went platinum. Wink

Personally, I think I'm worth my weight in gold for chess.com. Cool

And just for you Erik, I just uploaded two videos (a short & long version) on how to set up a Chess960 position in real life.

jpd303

i got it on my space, but i dont have any friends who play.  i have told everyone i know that im addicted to this site, so i have advertised but to a deaf audience

jay

dont get me started Erik...otherwise its going to turn into a rant about the sleepless nights of tossing and turning as I stress out about the most recent major architectural database overhauls!!  :(((((

Dozy

Three out of four ain't bad.  I've gotta pass on the flyers because I do all my chess playing here now so there's nowhere to distribute them.  Am hoping to get back to a couple of OTB tourneys next year and, when I do, I'll rent out my bald patch to you so you can put an ad on my head.

As a matter of interest I decided to upgrade to Diamond after you made Chess 960 available.  I'd never played it before and, of itself, it wasn't the complete reason, but at that point I realised you were going to keep adding new features and benefits.  I think they're worth paying for.

Thanks for a great site.

And as for the "shopkeeper" comments:  if there's a shop anywhere that's as good as chess.com will somebody tell me where it is.  I want to be a customer.
