I decided to write all chess champions in one list for me and for other readers as useful short information!

List of all World Chess Champions:

1. Wilhelm Steinitz was the first official world chess champion from 1886 to 1894.

2. Emanuel Lasker - second champion! From 1894 to 1921.

3. Jose Raul Capablanca - third champion! From 1921 to 1927.

4. Alexander Alekhine- 4th champion! Years: 1927-1935, 1937-1946.

5. Max Euwe - 5th champion! Years: 1935-1937.

6. Mikhail Botvinnik - 6th champion! Years: 1948-1957, 1958-1960, 1961-1963.

7. Vasily Smyslov - 7th champion! Years: 1957-1958.

8. Mikhail Tal - 8th champion! Years: 1960-1961.

9. Tigran Petrosyan - 9th champion! Years: 1963-1969.

10. Boris Spassky - 10th champion! Years: 1969-1972

11. Bobby Fischer - 11th champion! Years: 1972-1975.

12. Anatoly Karpov - 12th champion! Years: 1975-1985. [FIDE champion 1993-1999]

13. Garry Kasparov - 13th champion! Years: 1985-1993. [PCA champion 1993-2000]

14. Vladimir Kramnik - 14th champion! Years: 2000-2007

15. Viswanathan Anand - 15th champion! Years: 2007-2013. [FIDE champion 2000-2002]

16. Magnus Carlsen - 16th World Chess Champion! Years: 2013-2023

17. Ding Liren - 17th World Chess Champion! Years : 2023-24 

18. Gukesh D - 18th World Chess Champion at 18 yrs old! Years: 2024 - Currently
