[Puzzle Road] A difficult choice... (P14)
Welcome to puzzle road!
Today, you will need to make a choice! You will get two possible moves, and you will have to choose which one is the best! Indeed, OTB you will need to make choices, and will always have many possibilities.
In a real game, you will have to find yourself the possible moves, but for this puzzle, I will tell you two moves. One is the best, the other one really a blunder! Which one is the good?
14/ A difficult choice… (Topic: double attack)
The two moves are: Rxf1 and Nxf3. The blunder is “not to win material” … the best moves does win material!!
The best move: Nxf3 (!!)
Indeed, the white king and our queen are now on the same columns, separated by the Knight. Our idea is to play 2. Nd4 and win the Queen. White cannot take our rook and need to play King on the g2-square. If Ke3, we play Queen f4, followed by taking the white rook with our rook ad finally checkmate with queend2!
After Kg2, we play our Knight on h4 to check the king and attack two times (rook and queen) the white rook. After the check, Black has only one possible move to nor loose the rook: kingg1!
And now we have a double attack with Queenb6 (!!)
Have a good day!
