Triple Checks are Possible!!!
Introduction
The Grasshopper is a very interesting chess piece. It can only move by jumping over other pieces in a diagonal, horizontal, or vertical line, so I’ve decided to make a series about what the Grasshopper can do. Just go to the Custom Variant and pick, for the pawn promotion piece, Grasshopper.
What can you do, Mr. Grasshopper?
In this position (created fully for your enjoyment), White is crushing Black.
Now White can do a Triple Check, by playing Bishop to f7 (Bf7) as shown:
Interesting! The Bishop Checks, obviously, but the Grasshopper can now attack over the Bishop and check the Black King, and the other Grasshopper can jump over the other Bishop!
