Jimmy…WHY?

Jimmy…WHY?

It seems that Jimmy lost all but two brain cells after his four brilliancies during his game as White against Wayne, a bot 350 points under him, in a double marathon game with many blunders…both players played almost 60 blunders, 45 mistakes, and over 60 inaccuracies! Jimmy was the advantageous one for most of the 212 moves, and promoted two pawns, even deciding to promote one into a bishop to taunt Wayne. However, three minor pieces up (two bishops and a knight against nothing) led to a repetition draw.

The first mistake was only on move 5, with White playing the mistake Nd4, giving up a pawn. On move 37, Jimmy played another brilliancy which I don’t even understand. Move 54 was the first time where Wayne had a significant advantage. Every move for White and every move except the last for Black was a mistake or blunder between moves 54 and 62. On move 138, Jimmy decides to be creative and play a8=B?? instead of a queen purely to taunt Wayne with his disadvantage. Jimmy finally promotes to a queen on move 175…immediately allowing the fork Nf6+, although the resulting king and two bishops vs king would be winning for an 1000+. On move 199, Wayne blunders his last minor piece, a knight, by leaving it unguarded, and on move 200, it seems that Jimmy is guaranteed to win. Oh wait…

Why, Jimmy?

It seems that Jimmy got lucky that time, but seems to really like draws: he gains an advantage, but gives back material, feeling pity, or decides to draw.

This is another of Jimmy’s games in the double round robin beginner bot tournament that I am doing, so keep watching for more updates!
